SOURCE: cub cadet dead as a door nail

I have the same mower. The wires do need to be connected. It is a safety feature on the cubs. The engine will not start if the electric PTO is engaged. I just went into the garage, pulled the pto lever out to engage, pushed down brake, tried to start and it would not start. I suggest reattatching the wires and trying it. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Honda HT4213 lawn tractor, it does not have any spark.

Flywheel and ignition coil are located on the rear of this engine. Remove covers as needed to reach the ignition coil. There are two (2) High-Tension leads (to the spark plugs) and one (1) small-guage wire.
The smaller guage wire is the engine's "Kill Circuit" trigger-wire. Everything electrical that makes the engine stop running comes back to this wire. Unplug it and check for spark with a spark tester.
SEE NOTE BELOW
If no spark, replace the coil. Part number 30500-ZA0-701.
If good spark, continue your wiring checks, possibly the control relay part number 38350-762-003 located roughly in the left rear of the engine bay.

NOTE: DO NOT START the engine with this kill-wire unplugged! There will be no way to turn it off until it runs out of fuel! Remove the spark plugs and use a spark tester and above all, BE SAFE!

Hope this helps,
Dolf-

SOURCE: I have a LT 1024

There should be 3 safety switches on the mower. 1 will be under the seat, causing the engine to die if you were to fall off the machine while in gear. 1 is in the transmission to be sure the machine is in neutral when you go to start it, and one will be on the blades to insure they are not engaged when you go to start it. You will not want to bypass this switch, rather get it replaced as it is very important that this safety feature is working should you slip off the seat or accidentally get off the machine when it's in gear.

SOURCE: My Cub cadet pto cluch bearing is froze up on my 2518 lawn tracto

A medium length extension (stuck through the grill), a swivel and an impact is all you need to remove the pulley with the frozen bearing. It's just a bolt, a washer, and a lock washer holding it on. You just need to remove the pulley to see if the bearing is stuck. Take the pulley to your local shop that can press bearings and you can be up and running for $20 dollars instead of $300. Here's a diagram I found on partstree:

Have a cub cadet 50 inch cut zero turn, after cutting grass for 30 min or so it acts like wants to die but if I shut the PTO off it catches up but will start to die if I reengage the blades. starts a

When it starts cutting out and you turn off the PTO, how long do you have to wait until it can be turned on again? It sounds as if your PTO is overheating and loading down the engine. Run the mower for about 10 minutes, shut it off, and carefully feel the PTO housing. Resume cutting and repeat after it starts cutting out.

Replacing it is not as simple as changing the spark plug, but does not require an advanced degree.

PTO WILL NOT CUT ON

I would check that you have a 12 volt supply down at the clutch when the pto switch is pulled out, if not you need to investigate the wireing and or micro switches,

In the cub cadet, the PTO power is maintained via a latching circuit that includes a reverse switch and a reverse relay. Locate the reverse switch that senses whether the tractor is in reverse -- either it's come loose, become misadjusted, or it's failed, or the wiring and connections are loose. You could bypass the switch to confirm this as the problem.
