The 850 Guzzi has a lag in the throttle when it is opened up. It seems to wallow for a few seconds before the speed increases. I have pod filters

I have played around with the pumpers on the carbs to see if it makes any difference but it's still thereThe original slides in your PHFs carbs are type 60/3 which means the height of the cutaway is 6 mm (the 3 refers to the shape of the ramp for the operation of the accel. pump). By changing to 50/* slides you richen-up the operation JUST OFF idle i.e. in order to avoid the 'stumbling' of the engine JUST as you open the throttle. Slides are expensive and 50/* may be an overkill(?) so the common advice is to shave off half a millimetre of the bottom of the slide, thus making it a 55 slide. Haven't been brave enough to do this on my own LM3, but after I got rid of the boat-anchor-flywheel the problem is now possible to live with. Go Captain Karl H's way first and see for yourself, it's like getting a new bike!! I would not not have bothered fiddling with the accel.pumps to solve this problem: by the time these water guns squirt raw juice into the barrels you're well on the way driving anyway. I've even disconnected the pumps and I haven't seen any adverse effect of that. ,,,
