Question about GE 25 in. GSC3200Z Free-standing Dishwasher

Losing water pressure in pump?

I have a dishwasher that was in storage for several months, and when I got it out, the spray action was very little. I used vinegar and then citric acid mixture like the manufacturer told me to. It helped but didn't completely fix the problem. The motor has a humm that comes and goes and I can hear the water spraying up and then dying down like it is running out of pressure in the pump and has to build back up again to spray again. It seems to clean some dishes on the bottom rack , but the top rack just gets a little bit wet and the soap usually doesn't get all out of the dispenser. Could I need a new pump? What else could I try?

Shellybabe, these GE dishwasher pumps have a habit of sticking when not in use for a while. It sounds like you have been washing but not good. If you remove the toe panel (lower) you will see the pump motor in the center. If the vanes in the back center of the motor turn freely, your pump is not stuck. If they wont turn, put pressure on them until the pump frees up. You also want to make sure that the fill valve is letting in enough water. The water should be just below the heating element after the initial fill. If you are not sure try adding 2 addition quarts of water to the machine after the initial fill and see if the circulation is better. Remember to unplug or kill the power to the dishwasher when checking the motor vanes...Catriver..post back.

Doesn't pump water

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

To replace check this link:

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Dishes aren't coming clean. Seem to have grit on them and the drain pump is noisy when running. I assume I have to replace drain pump. Suggestions? Is this difficult?

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water.

My Bosch SHX56BO6UC14 is not getting the dishes clean at all. It's making a grinding sound. It is pumping water & spraying water, but not getting anything clean. help?

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

Dishwasher Model TKD795/3/N Washer was set on a normal wash of 50 degrees and completed the wash cycle according to the audible end of cycle warning, (approx 2 and 1/4 hours), but on opening the door,...

It is possible that the drain pump is not working and tthe pressure pump is not efficient.
So you will need to flush out the dirt at the drain as well as check why the pressure of the water spray is down.
Check the pressure pump for action ,clean and set or the pump is faulty.
make sure the program is working with the outputs available .

Whirlpool dishwasher has food particles baked on.

Heating element may fail. This will lead to the machine stopping part way through its cycle

Pumps. There are 2 pumps in most dishwashers. The drain pump,( which describes itself -it pumps the water out of the machine.)
The recirculating pump which forces the water at high pressure through the spray nozzles and arms. (This is how the cleaning action is performed)
These pump may either leak, or burn out. Either way, the only solution is replacement.
