Cannot copy [song-name]: The drive cannot find the sector requested.

When I want to copy a certain song from my PC to the MP3, it says "Cannot copy [song-name]: The drive cannot find the sector requested." but when I try to copy another song from the same folder in the same PC, it could be copied. Is it a problem with the mp3, the usb port or the song itself?

I also have the same problem with moving songs from my PC to my mobile phone (sony ericsson K800i), I have also tried moving songs from my laptop too, certain songs will move onto my phone but it comes up with the error message after about three songs are copied. When i tried copying other songs from my PC to my phone, it does not work atall.

Is there a way i could get round this?

i also have a k800i and it doesn't work. All this **** about bad drivers isn't true. Sometimes you just have to reboot and retry and it works. Other times you can move the song to a different computer and then try putting it onto your phone from there and it still doesn't work. It's something to do with the song. Once i did all the moving to other computers and rebooting and stuff and it still didn't work, so i gave up, only to find at some point it had been put onto my phone anyway... lol

Well, probably the problem is with not enough FREE SPACE. While it shows you a certain ammount of free space, actually its less, after you delete some files, you free space up, then you're able to copy.. had the same problem, I think that's the reason..

I Fixed this by :
right clicking on the memory/hard drive>properties >tools TAB>error checking section>checknow button>scan for and attempt recovery of Bad sectors

if this doesn't work  ur memory might be corrupted/damaged

hope this work for all of u,i also tried disk defragment

I have got the same annoying problem...just deleted a couple of songs and then retry. I don't have an explanation.

The only way i could do it was by deleting songs from my Mobile that i never listen to and then copying the new music on there, that is the only help i can give, hope it works

Try Using MyPhoneExplorer to copy the files

Posted on Jul 23, 2008

Its basically because of the fragmentation of the drive. Try to defrag the drive using any tool (defraggler is best. google for it) and copy again.

Retry the command after you do one of the following: (1) make sure the disk is properly inserted; (2) use the Chkdsk utility to check that the disk is not damaged; (3) format the disk or floppy disk for the appropriate file system (realize that when you format a disk, any information that was previously on the disk will be erased); or (4) check to make sure you do not have a high density floppy disk in a low density floppy drive.

I have the same problem on my mobile phone. Although I have enough memory on the phone I had to delete some other song, and then it worked.
Sorry but I don't know any other solution. :-)

Drive is the problem as is mine. other drives on this pc don't have this problem. This drive has the problem since I can duplicate it by moving to a differnt PC.

How do I put songs in playlist on my Coby MP620 MP3 player

The Coby is weird, but I found a way to create playlists. It might not be the "real" way, but it works :)
Before I plug the mp3 in my computer I create folders containing the songs I want for each play list. For example I'd create one folder labeled "work out" for songs I want to listen to while working out, and another folder labeled "sleep" for songs to listen to while sleeping, or you could label them based on artists or genre or etc. Then I would copy the songs I want in each playlist into their respective folders.
Next, I plug my coby into my computer, and open it's folder. (should be in computers, and have a icon with a C on it). I'd copy (or click and drag into the coby folder) my play list folders (the ones I labeled work out and sleep). Then eject and remove my mp3.
If you do this, when you turn on your mp3 you should select Music. Then select Broswer (on the bottom). Select the first row, which has the symbol "\" [underneath this is all your songs] and you'll see the names of your play list folders (they'll be below ROOT, MAC OS X Coby Me, and PHOTOS) . If you select your play list name you'll see and be able to play the songs under that playlist.

Someone help how to put music on phlips gogear sa3025

Download sa3025_97_mcs_eng application from philips web site and you can use this to convert videos/images to required format. Then this files can be easily copied to player through a PC. copying songs is just easy as we do it in pen drive. But copy songs in folder name "MUSIC" only.

Cannot copy [song-name]: The drive cannot find the sector requested.

Have you checked the extension of the files?
Make sure that those can be supported.

Else right click the song and click SEND TO and select the player.

If still it says the same error, then move those files to another folder and copy them.

That might work.
