My macbook's plastic casing is broken. Does anyone of a good way to get it replaced? Is the apple store the best bet or alternative suggestions?

For any apple repair. The absolute best place to get repair parts is Apple itself. Everything you get will fit perfectly in accordance to the model, and make. Don't try other places because through my experience it's never the right one u are looking for.

SOURCE: Popped off key on macbook

Well, you can pop the key back in , but you have to line up the hinge part to the 2 joints on the membrane. If you're not sure, make the appointment and take thr drive, it's worth not voiding your warranty incase something else costly might happen down the rod. I know its a pain, but if that is the only issue, than you're.

SOURCE: Macbook screen messed up

Hi there
Yep, I understand your concern.

The cheapest and quickest way is to get an external monitor.
You can pick up flat LCDs very cheaply these days. Even second hand ones on ebay.

The only down side is you cannot use the mac on the move.

I for instance have a monitor at work and at home. I just plug my mac into the monitor where ever I am.

The new monitors come with digital cables.

Good luck

SOURCE: APPLE MACBOOK

If you get the Apple logo with spinning lines underneath it but not getting past this stage then the hard disc is being seen but something is failing in the boot process, causing it to stall.
Most likely this is a case of incorrect file permissions which is easily solved.
There are 2 ways of doing it, depending on whether you have an OS X install disc to hand or not.
IF YOU DO HAVE AN OS X INSTALL DISC:
Insert the disc into the DVD drive, power on the Mac on after hearing the chime hold down the C key. This forces the Mac to boot from the DVD. After a few minutes you'll get a screen asking which language you wish to use as the main language; select English or whichever is appropriate for you.
On the next screen the Installer box will appear. Ignore this and instead on the menu at the top of the screen select Utilities -> Disc Utility. Once this has loaded select your hard drive on the left hand pane and then first click "Repair Disc" and once that has finished click "Repair Permissions".
Once these have completed successfully reboot and OS X should load up fine.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN OS X INSTALL DISC:
This is a bit more tricky. You have to boot into single user mode. To do this power on the machine, and after the chime hold down Cmd (Apple key) and S together. The screen will turn black and an a load of white text will start appearing and scrolling upward as the system loads. Basically this is what happens behind the Apple startup logo, only in single user mode rather than multiple user mode.
After a few moments the text should stop scrolling and you should see a prompt which looks similar to:
localhost: / root#:
Note that localhost is the name of your computer so will possibly be different to "localhost". At this point type the following EXACTLY including spaces, capitalisation and dashes etc:
/sbin/fsck -fy
now press enter, then type:
/sbin/mount -uw /
now press enter then type:
diskutil repairPermissions /
and press enter. It may take a few minutes to repair the disc's permissions, but once complete you should have the
localhost: / root#:

prompt again. Now type:
reboot
and hit enter. The system will then reboot and should boot into OS X without issue.

SOURCE: Top Case cracked

Mine has the same problem and I work for a company that uses mac's that also have had the same problem. It is a design fault. Take it to your nearest apple store and state this and they should change it.

Track pad will not click

Hi There,
I hate to say it, but you might have one the MacBooks whose battery has swelled, and interferes with using the click function of the keyboard.
If that is the case, you can take your laptop to an Apple Store and quietly, but sternly, raise hell with them so that they will replace your battery free of charge.
Hope this helps & good luck!

I dropped my macbook

It's either a broken logic board or hard drive. It's repairable but make an appointment at the Apple Store genius bar to decide whether the cost of repair is worth it vs. a replacement.

This is a known issue with some of the Macbook Airs - you should bring the machine to an Apple store, or open a case at apple.com
They may be able to repair/replace at no cost, depending on how old the machine is.

Cracked keyboard

Are you sure it's a macbook and not an ibook? The macbook has an embedded kebboard. It's ribbon cable and connectors are inside of the laptop as opposed to the ibook, which is installed on the top case. The Ibook did have issues with the clear or green ribbon cable squeezing up from under the right side.
