What is the make and model of the computer?

  • Scott Apr 03, 2012

It is a Gateway 3520 GZ

If the BIOS wont see it there is either a problem with the BIOS or the hard drive. To see if it is the BIOS then you need to enter setup and check the date, if it is wrong then the BIOS battery is most likely drained. If the date is correct then shut it off and put the hard drive in and restart. But this is most likely the hard drive failed.

SOURCE: Compaq Presario V6000, keeps rebooting, blank screen,

If your pc reboots just after post my first place to look is to reseat the hard drive and see if that makes a difference. If it doesnt you could try and repairing your windows operating system or doing a system restore. If the os loads sucessfully then i would say you had a corrupt boot file maybe from a virus or a failing hard drive. I hope this helps

SOURCE: Gateway ML6232 laptop will not, boot, hard drive

first thing to try is the manufacturers diagnostic software.if that doesn't work try the ultimate boot cd
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ it is free and has a lot of utilities for hdd diagnostics. if you still can't get a definitive answer i would say you have a faulty logic board.
