Insert SIM Card

My phones displays the message Insert SIM Card even though it has the SIM Card.

Just had the same probs myself, tried cleaning SIM contacts etc, didn't work, so tried this instead ; Folded a small piece of paper, put in between sim and cradle, fired up the phone - heypresto, works a treat!

There is no problem with the sim card. The problem is the design. The sim card is held in by the battery and it has too much play in it. I took a small paper clip and put it between the battery and the bottom of the phone. This made the connection nice and snug. Haven't had a problem since.

make sure you push the sim card up as you put it in.. don't just push the cover down onto it.. put it in and then slide it into position...just had the same thing on mine but its ok now it just wasn't connecting properly!..you MUST slide it into position too!

some nokia batteries also giving the problems. replace ur bl-5c battery and check..not been solved flash once.

1. CLEAN SIM CARD WITH ERASER AND BRUSH
2. MAKE SURE THAT THE SIM CONNECTOR PROPERLY CONNECTED TO SIM CARD
3. IF PREPAID, BE SURE THAT IT HAS BEEN LOADED NOT EXCEEDING ITS EXPIRY DATE

sounds like its your sim connector m8 eraser may not do it so send it to http://www.mobilephoneservicecentre.co.u... m8 if its some thin simple they might do it for free they dont charge for havin a look an are very cheap.they do tons of fones for me so i know they good from experience.

1.Confirm whether same sim card is working in other h.s or not.
2.Make sure the sim slot is o.k. only try these two.
3. Take a duuplicate sim from the service providre's office.

I did the same thing, before I checked....Turn the sim card the other way around, check your manual for correct procedure. Otherwise faulty sim card.

Clean both edges of the phone and the SIM card and switch on. If it does not work, then the problem might be with the IC chip and it costs between 150 and 200 rs. This is because of either the phone might have fallen down or from the short circuit due to moisture

Assuming you've slid the SIM card under the metal band with the gold contacts facing down, DON'T do what I did and push the card down under the sticking-out silver clip so that the card sits in the shaped recess of the SIM holder. The card should stay up with its top part sticking through the metal band and its bottom edge in line with the end of the silver clip, not slid under it. The user manual is very misleading! Hope it works.

1.cheak sim in other phone.
2.take sim connector slight up by pin then cheak by inserting sim.
3.hot air gun on sim i.c. then cheak it.

dear if ur sim card is good then it is problum form sim card ic u have u raplace it with SMD. u can make it jumper mean u can fix this prob with out sim card is for this contact.

Try rubbing the gold pimples on your phone with a pencil eraser. If that doesn't work take it to your dealer.

try ur sim in other h set or try another sim in ur h set if ur sim works in other h set then prob. with card slot or if another sim works in ur sim card slot then prob. with sim so plz contact service provider for same

1. Remove the SIM card out, have check for stain, rust or breakage. if so plz change the SIM

2. Try with another SIM card ( better if new )

3. If all the above steps fails, check the SIM card connector pins for damage. if so try to get serviced.

please replace the sim ic and make a jumper 1 - 3 4- 6 7-8

you might need to get a new sims card.

check the sim card terminals..cleann it if possible

make sure that the sim card hasn't been damamged at all. if so , you may need to get a new one

Apparently the problem is with the SIM card. The old SIMs are slightly different from the new ones. I'm currently waiting on a new SIM to solve this issue with an N95. Can see more at this forum link:

my problem was with my sim card - it was about 5 years old. Apparently the gold contacts on new ones are visibly differently shaped and the card requires less voltage. After weeks of intermittent "insert sim cards" the O2 shop diagnosed the problem and fitted me out with a new sim card (with the same number) in 10 minutes - all for free.

Dodong's solution - the eraser - actually worked! I would recommend using a new, clean eraser and rubbing it on paper a little bit before you clean the sim. Do it gently but thoroughly, blow it off carefully, and put it back in.
