My 1994 e150 sound system sounds puny compared to what I believe stock should be. All the speaker work there just isnt much volume, bass, or treble. Is there an amp that boost the sound? where is it?

well first i would change all the mid speakers out to kenwood speakers and not the cheap ones cause the cheap ones are like stock speakers the more higher priced ones like the 80 dollar ones are equal to 300 dollar speakers then you should get a 2 channel or 4 channel MTX amp each speaker can take 150watts. your system would be alot better than stock. if anything look on that would be the best place if you dont want to go to a car stereo shop in your area. if you plan to keep the deck stock then you need a hi-lo adapter which will hook up to the right or left rear speaker and the remote wire needs to go to the ignition wire behind the deck

Similar prob.did the 12 steps on how to install amp(jensen4100,blue).red protec light comes on when starting car then goes out and is not followed up by the green protec light .green one never comes on....

If you are running a set or a single subwoofer with the jensen amp than you will want to hook up the rca cord to the subwoofer rca connection on the back of the stereo unit-the other rca outputs are there in the event that you want to run a 2 or 4 channel amp to power the speakers that are generally located in the doors or back deck-with that set up properly you would still be able to adjust the balance and the fader just as though you were powering the speakers with the deck. Pug the free ends of the RCA cord into the input rca receptacles of the amp- the stereo now will feed a signal to the amplifier that only contains bass - good luck

Amp turns off

You did not specify the model you have - however the Flex series is only stable with a load of 4 ohm mono (bridged) and 2 ohm (stereo).
You are driving the amplifier to work too hard, and it is shutting itself down.
Re-wire using one subwoofer (bridged) or wiring the subwoofers on seperate channels.

Legend Amp hook up manual.

Pretty Straight Forward get a 8 or 4 gauge amp wiring kit.

Run your hot wire to the +12V from the battery make sure to install the supplied inline fuse near the battery don't connect to the battery until installation is complete.

Run the REM to your stereo power ant. Wire. if available.

Run the GND to Metal Chassis Ground keep it as short as possible.

Run the RCA Cable from the back of the Stereo to the RCA Inputs or Low Level on the amp.

This amp is 2 Ohm Stereo Stable which means you can connect 2 (4 ohm) speakers in parallel to each channel or 1 (4 ohm) speaker on each channel or you can connect 1 (4 ohm) Speaker in bridged mode.

There are other speaker configurations you could use but you cannot drop the load below 2 Ohm in stereo mode and no lower than 4 ohm in bridged mode.

Hope this helps

I just need to know if the 2 channels from the amp go to the front or rear speaker location on the stereo and if they go to the rear do I hook up the rear speakers directly to the amp and the fronts to the...

The only thing that hooks to the stereo are a remote cable should be labeles on the amp. and the rca cables (red and whites) the different channels go to different sets of speakers.right to right left to left. make sure your amp is grounded well or you'll throw the fuse. Hope this helps if you have questions contact me.

High wattage car stereo

positive (1 guage) from main battery to second battery positive terminal. hook all amps positive to second battery and hook 2nd battery ground to frame of car (where amp is now grounded) if you have a 2nd battery a cap is a waste of money. make sure all grounds (battery and amps) are together on same ground point of car, do not ground amps to battery - ground everything to 1 spot on the frame or body of the car ! - yes you can pigtail remote leads.

I bought a 500/1 jl audio amp and also a w7 10 sub

if its cutting off and right back on then check your ground and your power wire makes sure both are connected good and none of your fuse's are blown, either that or you got a wire hooked up backwards in the sub.. but my guess is that the sub is hooked up wrong... that sub should be hooked up in a series or in parallel,

ok if your running just one speaker, it should be hooked up like this and 2 speakers are a different way...

this is parallel :pos to pos , neg to neg, then one wire coming from pos on sub to pos on amp then neg on sub to neg on amp but bridge the amp on your amp should be 2 pos and 2 neg in two different channels take the pos off the sub into the pos on 1 channel and then the neg from sub to the neg on the other channel,

this is series : on the sub it will go pos to neg then the other neg and pos will go to the amp, but make sure the pos and neg r on different sides of the sub, dont hook them both to the same coil

if your need more help give me your email and ill send you a pic of how to do it...

I believe that this model Sony amp includes High Level inputs. Those allow you to connect the normal speaker wires coming out of the factory stereo to the amp. If for some reason it doesn't include the inputs you can buy a high level to low lever converter that will give you rca from the factory unit.
