Question about LG LDF6810ST Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

LG Dishwasher LDF6810ST

My unit is about 2 years old and I've had problems with this unit and had the motor and wiring harness replaced under warranty. Since this time the unit has not gotten the dishes clean, or dry and I get a pungent odor out of the unit after about 12 hours. When I interupt the wash cycle and touch the water it is not very hot. I called the technicians back and they told me that there was nothing wrong (yet he had never worked on this unit before and did not have a service manual). LG has agreed to extend my warranty and I'm having another company come to service the unit. Any suggestions on the problem?

Finally had the problem fixed by a new service company. The problem was the main control board which had a short in it. Basically, the board was not allowing the heater to turn on and the water was not getting hot enough to clean the dishes. The heater not working was the reason why the dishes were not drying. Since the machine is now properly cleaning, the odor issues have gone away.

I got the same problem in my dishwasher. I bought it and moved overseas right after, and since the first wash I don't get clean dishes or silverware out of it. When I open the lid in mid-cycle I notice the water is not hot enough. I wonder how difficult it would be to replace the control board myself since I may not have service in the country where I am. Would you send me details about that ?

Hi,
As I had the same problem, I worked on my machine and found out the heater unit was not working (it is a brand new machine ! - remark : as I moved overseas, LG did not cover it with their warranty).
But back to what I did : I ran the check program (instructions can be found in the Service Manual) and verified it was sending voltage to the heater on step 36. So I checked the heater unit (in the bottom of the machine) and found it was burned or open. So I ordered a new heater assembly ($40 on eBay), replaced it myself and am completely happy with the results.
Remarks : the heater is powerful enough to heat cold water to the temperatures required (I don't have hot water in the faucet); it seems that the heater also produces heat for the drying cycle (my dishes were completely wet at the end of the cycle before, now they get completely dry). My only disappointment, mentioned by some in the forum, is that the outlet during the drying cycle is in the bottom of the door, so steam condensates into droplets on the kitchen floor. But now I get clean dishes, and this machine is amazingly silent and efficient. Good luck to you !

I am getting error code PF on my LG LDF6810ST, what does that mean?

PF means power failure. You are having a power supply problem. Check to make sure that the plug is connected properly. Check the junction box on the lower right corner behind the kick plate to make sure the wires are connected properly. If your dishwasher is 5 years or older, remove the front door panel and check the wire harness in the door liner for any broken wires. Good luck

Dishwasher makes a buzzing noise and then shuts itself off.

MINE IS A 3850DD3006A AND IS 4 YEARS OLD. I HAVE CHANGE THE MOTOR TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, IT GIVES CODE LE. THE MOTOR RING SPLITS AND WON'T LET THE MOTOR SPIN EASILY.

I got error LE what does this mean

The motor is working abnormally. It's either motor harness wiring connection is bad, the Impeller of Washing Pump is locked, the rotor of Washing Motor is locked, or the Blade is locked.

LG LDF6810ST Dishwasher - LE Error

If this LG LFD6810 dishwasher is less than 24 months old, the parts are still covered, just not the labor.
Recommend you contact LG service and discuss your failed wash motor.
And yes, because the impeller (and the motor it is connected to) does not spin freely, it is the culprit.
Good Luck!

Steps to fix OE are as follows:
-Check the Drain Hose is not kinked or blocked.
-Are all wiring connections OK?
-The drain outlet of sump is blocked.
-The Drain Pump/Motor or circuit has failed.
To check the pump motor: -Measure the electric resistance of Drain Motor. (best between 20-40 ohms) If out of range, replace the Drain Motor or repair the Circuit.
Good Luck! Please report back your findings.

STARTS AND STOPS WITH ERROR CODE LE

LE is a locked motor error. If the serial number on your unit starts with 712 or anything lower, then it is most likely a wiring issue inside the door.

If this is your case, call LG customer service at 800-243-0000 and have them refer to service bulletin # IDSW20070060. The door liner and the wiring harness will need to be replaced.

LG Dishwasher Model LDF6810ST Dishwasher won't turn on

your model probably has a coating of a black tar-like substance on the inside of the inner door, which, by design, reduces noise. However, LG failed to notice the corrosive properties of the black tar-like layer. Your wiring harness is probably corroded by the soundproofing, and you will need a new inner door, wiring harness, and circuit board. LG extended my parts warranty because they know it's their fault, Call them at 1-800-243-0000. They will recommend an LG warranty repair certified technician in your area to come out and confirm this. They probably won't extend the warranty until after the tech checks out ur unit. However, labor will be your responsibility.
