Question about Canon MVX250I Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Canon MVX250i Camcorder SD card does not format in camera (it does happen in desktop pc only) It then takes multiple shots if I hold shoot button too long. I have used original 8MB card and another 512MB which has other data on it. Video was unnaffected. After following instruction on p117 I still have a red frame and 'card full'

Many thanks for answering my email so promptly. I suddenly realized that I was describing two seperate problems and not one. I am 73.... refered to the manual again. Sorry about that.

I hadn't used camcorder for a long time but am always impressed with resolution of 'stills' - must be due to the cluster of fine lenses rather than 1.3 megapixels. I use it in this mode moreoften - better than carrying two cameras but it due have lots of 'tricks and treats' - many of which I have never learned! Terence

I have a bell and howell dnv900hd camcorder and it says he memory is full when there is no files on the card

Make sure you either have two SD cards in, or put the one card into the first slot. Also, you have to go into utilities to format the cards before you can use them. If it still says full, try pulling the card and reading it on your pc.

The sd card is not working and saying card error

Go in the camera options and format the card. If your camera does not have this option or it can't complete the format it means that :
Your card might not be formatted with the correct File System. Move your SD Card to a computer with card reader and Format with FAT32 File System the move it to camera. If the camera gives the same error, format the SD card with the NTFS file system the try again in your camera. If the SD card still don't work try FAT Fyle System.

When I turn on my Jazz DV 152/ T20 it displays "Read card..." and then nothing happens...I have a 4GB SDHC card by SanDisk...both camera and card are new....is this a faulty camera or am I doing something...

Usually the first thing you need to do with any SD card and Camera is to go into the settings of the your camera and Format the SD card. This has to be done for each memory card you use with that camera. i.e. a SD card formatted on a Panasonic HD camcorder won't work in your Jazz Camcorder. The formatting is different between the two camcorders. New SD cards don't come formatted.
SO try inserting the SD card into your Jazz Cam and rummage through the setting until you find your memory settings. From there find the Format Memory Card function, format the SD Card and you should be good to go.

Can't upload the videos.

Go to the Canon website and look up support and see if you can download the proper software for your camcorder.

The Mini SD card can be used for anything you like, it's up to your camcorder if it can be used to save video to it, check your manual or the website. Videos are huge in comparison to most SD card sizes so unless you are shooting really short videos, I'd say no you can't save the videos to it.

Will not recognize 16 GB SDHC Card - Help Please

I had a literally terrifying experience with Aiptek customer service.

I called up Aiptek to ask if it was possible to get my memory cards working. I have two 4GB SDHC PNY cards, which th ekid at target reccomended after loking at the back of the box.

I was told by aiptek tech support that PNY cards will not work in the A-HD camera.

When I mentioned that the box says it will take cards up to 32GB, and asked him if this was not false advertising. The representative became irate and started insulting me, using valgure language, and calling me a liar.

At this point I had enough of his abuse and yelled at him F.U!

What happened next is Truly Absurd and Outrageous!

The man behind the telephone at Aiptek told me he was going to send 5 guys to my house to assult me and my fammily!
THIS IS NO JOKE!

SD card

Try formatting the card first. You can use another camera, or a computer with card reader for this. On a pc right-click on the card in My Computer and choose format. On a Mac, hold control and click on the card in Finder and choose format. Try it in the camcorder again. Also, some card speeds or sizes might not work in your camera. ie - 1gig or higher. Try a smaller card. Check your manual, check the manufacturer's web site, or go to google groups.
