You may need to access your router's setup page using a wired computer, for you to check the wireless settings including wireless security in the router.

Hope this helps!

I forgot my pass word

Use a paperclip to (while the router is on) press and hold the "Reset" button on the back for ten seconds. Release, and then the router will be back to factory default condition.

You can then use your browser to go to 192.168.1.1, log on with a blank user name, and the password will be "admin".

Then you can change your router access password, and re-enter your wireless security settings.

Hope that's helpful.

When my phone rings it shuts down my connection

Hello,

This sounds like you have a cordless phone that operates on the 2.4ghz frequency band and so does your router. All routers use this frequency range. If you have a cordless phone that uses the 2.4ghz band then you will need to get a different model phone. The newer ones operate on 5.1ghz and have a standard called DECT6.0 that does not interfere with wireless networks.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Well, There seems to be an issue with the wireless network on 2.4 Ghz band. Please change the wireless channel on 2.4 Ghz to a diffrent value and check if works fine.

You have a switch which is like a hub. You want a router, the router will assign IP addresses to each computer in your home. If you need to set up port forwarding then you do that within the router settings. For the most part newer routers have Universal plug and play which will handle the port forwarding for you.
