Dean SR142GP will not hold temp

Fryer will not hold at temp. Thermostat is working, but gas valve will not ignite when therm. tells it too. Replaced the gas valve and still same problem. Could the problem be with the temp sensors?

If thermostat is "closing" and sending power to gas valve, you may have too little mv power. A bad thermopile can cause this.

Deep fryer pilot is blown out when burners go out after reaching temp

Hi there. Hi limit may be tripping off due to high oil temperature (power supplying the gas valve is connected in series with the hi limit). Verify if the thermostat is not shorted, also please check the thermostat calibration if it is good.
Regards.

Pilot lights however when I turn the temp up to where I want it set to pilot goes out. The thermostat makes a ckicking sound when I tune it right before pilot goes out

Hi there.
Verify if the gas pressure fed to the fryer is correct. Check also for errors/ loose wire connections on gas valve, thermostat and hi limit, last possible cause, the thermopile is weak and cannot give enough power to energize pilot and main valve at the same time.
Regards.

With thermostat off still lets gas thru

Either the thermostat or the gas valve has failed. Locate and disconnect one of the wires going to the thermostat, if unit continues to heat the gas valve has failed, if not, the thermostat is likely stuck closed (on).

Unit ( model SR142gp serial 0608MA0448 - propane fuel ) operates as designed, but can not cut flame to pilot with the thermostat. must cut the gas control to pilot to the get pilot flame & pilot...

The pilot light should remain "ON" all the time. It is not intended to ever go off, unless you are not going to use the fryer for several months at a time. Then you can just shut off the propane which will shut off the pilot light flame. It does not cost that much to run the pilot light all the time. About one to two dollars a week.

Pilot light stays lit when I turn the gas valve to on. But nothing happens when I Turn the thermostat on. Help

The thermostat control is bad, you will need to replace the thermostat switch and everything will work just fine. Basically the thermostat switch is not sending a signal to the gas valve telling to to turn on

This fryer has been giving us problems. After we

You can try putting a jumper wire between the two terminals on the thermostat after the pilot is lit to see if the valve comes on. It is less than 1 volt so don't worry. That will tell you if the problem is with the thermostat or the gas valve.

Dean gas deep fryer burner on high will not respond to temp set

The thermostat is likely welded shut. You'll have to change it out.

Frymaster gf 14 won't come on

Ok sounds like your problem maybe that the gas valve is set to low. If you have access to a manometer you can put it on the outflow port of the gas valve and see what the reading is. It should be at 4" water column for this fryer. You possibly might even have a faulty gas valve, these will go out sometimes and still let the pilot bypass maintain regular operation. Please comment me back if you need more assistance with this.

Thanks
