My RadioShack 5.8 GHz Digital cordless phone is displaying the message "Out of Range" on Handset #1 Handset #2 is fine, but can't use the #1.
Tried taking the battery out and pressing * & # as suggested to other users on this site, but think that only works w/2.4 version.
Can you email me at [email protected] w/solution?
Thank you!
Hello rrno,
First try simply swapping batteries with
units that are still behaving...
and/or moving handsets around...
My experience has been the trouble travels
with the BATTERY...
Try purchasing a couple of new batteries.
My second suggestion... EDIT OUT your
email address... Skillful Scammers can hustle
you pretty good with an ID and a single point
in interest...
In the future... be a little more paranoid...!!
SERIOUSLY.

Unplug the battery. Hold down The * (star) and the #(hash) keys simultaneously. Re-connect the battery, phone will beep and screen will be blank. Press the voicemail (righthand silver key under the lcd screen). As above EEPROM/RAM message will appear. Place handset on base and your problem is solved.
SOURCE: Out of range
I successfully reset Radio Shack (Uniden) 5561 handset by reconnecting the battery while holding the '*' and '#' key, then press the right upper soft key near the LCD window. The display will indicate "EEPROM/RAM cleared!!" and will return the handset to the factory default condition - looking for a base to register to.

There is a Do Not Disturb button on the base unit. Press it to turn the feature on and off.
This is possibly caused by the internet connection.
Try new ADSL filter.
You need one each per device.

Hi. I just bought one of these phones and wanted more information than what the manual offered, so I went to the GE website to see what they had. Below I put what I found, maybe it can help you. Click on the blue box that towards the bottom left for the manual for download.
After the link, I also put extra information tabout this phone that helped me find the manual for you- it wasnt easy to find. OK, best of luck.
