This is required for the initial set-up. It is vital so that all of the data that is collected is accurate for your pictures. (i.e. date, time, etc.) I have had numerous Casio camera's and they all do it. In my experience, you do it once and it is set-up.

Although it seems like a pain when you first purchase the camera....don't know much about it...but just follow the directions (or use the manual if you have it)....
this should resolve it.

Please rank...but also understand that anything other than a Fix-ya actually lowers my rating.
If you have any other questions, or need further help...just ask!
thanks

When i`m going to take a pictre , it always shows a message in chinese

To change the language on the screen you have to take some steps of which some could be difficult because I don't know if it will respond in chines. but I try to put the steps correct and perhaps with clicking x times will bring you where you want to be.
In rec tr playback mode press [MENU]
select "setup"
then select "language"
then press >
Then you can cycle through the languages with arrow up or arrow down.
When on the selected language press > or <
ready.

Started defaulting to setup mode every time it is turned on

Hi!
It sounds like the internal battery which keeps the time and date running is empty and has to be replaced. You should contact your local Casio service center or other local camera service center, maybe they can get the battery from other broken camera.

Hope this helps!

Date & Time loss with Exilim EX-S600

Good Morning :

Hope that you are wellJ

This is the response from Casio:

"The date and time will reset and the setting will need to be readjusted. The camera does not have a separate battery for the clock. The date and time will reset whenever the camera is not supplied power by the battery and USB cradle for about 24 hours."

Sounds a bit messy to me.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember; always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

Have a wonderful morning.

Camera Keeps Restarting

What we always did at tech support was had the customers take out their memory cards first. Power on the camera, press the menu button, go to setup, go down to reset, press right arrow and cofirm through there. Then press menu again, go to setup, go down to format, press right arrow and confirm again. You will have to enter your time and date HOPEFULLY one last time. Try it and if that doesn't work then it is an internal electrical error and needs to be sent in. :)

Internal memory

Popie Jopie,

There should be a reset button on the camera, and if you can find a paperclip, turn off the camera, reset it with the paperclip, and wait for 10 seconds. Afterwards, turn the camera on and set the your info. It should stick:)

Casio Exilim Z57 Date and Language set up

OK, here's the fix. This camera has internal flash memory that is used to store settings and can be used for limited picture storage. Its use for saving setting is essential, however. If this gets corrupted then the camera won't save settings. Whoever said to format the internal memory had the right idea.

After much experimentation here's how. Remove your SD memory from the camera and turn it on. This will force it to run on the internal memory only. Run through the time/date/location setup again. It will complain about the memory card. Ignore this and press menu. Under Setup, select format. Choose format memory card and do it. This will format the internal memory. Once it is done, turn the camera off and back on. You'll notice that the problem is gone and it has remembered your last setup.
BTW, my camera is a EX-Z75. Not sure there is a Z57 model.
