Microsoft outlook menu missing

The "Out of Office Assistant" is a Microsoft Outlook feature that allows users to send automatic replies to people who send emails to them when they are out of the office or otherwise unavailable.
This feature is only available to Outlook users with Microsoft Exchange Server email accounts. Most personal email accounts through home Internet service providers do not support this feature.
If your Out of Office Assistant is missing from your "Tools Menu," it may be disabled, turned off or not installed.

Confirm that the Out of Office Assistant is installed and turned on.
To access the "Out of Office Assistant" menu command, you must be in mail view. It is not accessible from "Calendar," "Tasks," "Notes" or "Journals."
From your Inbox, click "Tools," "Options," the "Other" tab and select "Advanced Options."
Click "Add-in Manager" and select the "Exchange Extensions Commands" check box.
Try to access your "Out of Office Assistant."
If the Exchange Extensions Commands" check box is not available in the "Add-in Manager," proceed to Next Step .
Check that the "Exchange Extensions Commands" are enabled. Click "Help," then "About Microsoft Office Outlook" and select "Disabled Items."
If "Exchange Extensions Commands" is set to "Disabled," select it and click "Enable."
Attempt to use the "Out of Office Assistant" command. If it's still not available, proceed to Next Step .

Install "outex.ecf." From your "Tools" menu, click "Options" and select "Add-in Manager."
Then click "Install" and select "outex.ecf."
Click "Open."

Try to use the "Out of Office Assistant."
If you are still unable to use the "Out of Office Assistant," contact your system administrator.

When you use Microsoft Outlook Express to send and receive mail to a Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) or Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) server running Exchange 2000 Server or Exchange Server 2003, you may receive the following error message. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Please can you help,i can recieve emails but not send them , how can i fix this. roger

Most often this problem occurs when your internet service provider (ISP) blocks their sending port from use by other servers.

Example: If your internet service provider is bellsouth for example and your outgoing mail server is set to mail.yahoo.com or smtp.yahoo.com or mail.yourdomainname.com etc.... it may be getting blocked by bellsouth. The do this to avoid spammers from using their systems.

To fix it, contact your internet service provider and ask what your outgoing mail server should be. For Bellsouth it would be mail.bellsouth.net. Replace your outgoing mail server information with the information provided by your ISP and all should work well.

My computer has Vista and Outlook Express. Problem when I am in some motels on wyfi I can get the internet and my email but can not send out emil. If I go to my providers web site and then go to my web...

Are you able to surf the net using the WiFi (when the evdo connection has been closed via comm manager)?

If you're online with WiFi, but can't send email (yet you can receive), I'm guessing that the WiFi's internet connection may be the culprit...
You see, many ISPs have outgoing mail filters in place so that viruses and the like can't send out spam from multiple computers.
For example, my provider is optimum online, and they only allow outgoing mail traffic on port 25 (the standard pop3 outgoing port) if it is going to mail.optonline.com.
All you have to do then, is change your outgoing mail server to optonline, and you're all set (note this doesn't change your email address... all outgoing mail servers are the same, you can use whichever you want and it won't have any effect on your name or anything). Every optonline user in my area knows about this by now.

Problem is, then you can't send email from EVDO because optonline isn't accessible from there.
I chose to only send and receive email from the EVDO connection (you can set this somewhere, although I don't remember where), so even when using Wifi, outlook is using the cellular connection.

Alternatively, you can use an exchange server which won't have this problem (since it doesn't send outgoing mail directly, but rather syncs with a server which then sends your mail). special thanks to: dishe

My wife's email [ downloading and sending] has failed and the problem is 'socket error 10061 error number 0x800cccoe What can be done Thank you

Hi please see this link. If you can add more information it would help to be able to guide you through the process.
- Are you using Outlook Express or Outlook, and standalone, or attached to an exchange server.

Sometimes when you add a new email account the default ports are not those that you need. If it is e.g. a Gmail account that you want to use with Outlook etc, follow their instructions to make sure you set up the correct ports.

Am tring to set up my email on my new note book in out look express but dont seem to be able to come up with the log on page so am not able to do any thing like send an email can use email on my hotmail...

Outlook Express needs you to have an email account with your ISP, and your ISP should provide you with the setup items like Mail Servers. Once this isw done, you will have complete access to your email.

As an example, my ISP is Comcast and my mail servers are

mail.comcast.net to receive, and
smtp.comcast.net to send.

Your ISP will have their own servers, of course.

You will need to log in to these servers, using logins and passwords provided by your ISP. Outlook Express manages this as well.

Outlook not receiving mail or sending

You need to know the POP3 (Incoming mail) & SMTP(outgoing mail) server names.Your service provider can tell you these.
When you are in Outlook
From the menu- go to
Tools
Email Accounts
Email
Add a new Mail account
Server Type POP3 Type in the server name
Server Type SMTP Type in the server name
Your Name, Email Address given by your service provider
Log In User Name and Password
Save all these info. Close and restart the Outlook.
If this helped you, please give a rating.

Exchange not sending/receiving emails

Hiii,
You need to first check all connector related to Emails, if they are working properly. You can check receive connector by going into Server Configuration then Hub Transport and then you will see Receive Connectors are listed at right side below to server name. Just enable all receive connectors.

You can defragment edb file using Exchange Management Shell by executing this command:ESEUTIL /d "c:\edbfilename.edb" you can see its in displayed image. Now check for send / receive mails.
