Latitude D600 PC Notebook: i have dell latitude D630 laptop when i turn on...

Hi,

Do you have the drivers and software installed for the bluetooth module - you need to make sure that you have the correct Dell package installed in order for it to be registered.

Have you also checked under the computer device manager - does the bluetooth device show there?

I would also check in the BIOS to ensure that the bluetooth module is showing there and is set to enabled.

Hope this helps

Here is a link to the user guide:http://support.ap.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd600/en/index.htm

Or you can just read the following:

Enabling the Infrared Sensor
  1. Enter the system setup program:

    1. Turn on your computer.

    1. Press <F2> when the DELL logo appears.

  2. Press <Alt><P> until you locate Infrared Data Port under Basic Device Configuration.

  3. Press the down-arrow key to highlight Disabled next to Infrared Data Port.

  4. Press the right-arrow key to change the setting to a COM port.

Ensure that the COM port that you select is different from the COM port assigned to the serial connector.
  1. Press <Esc> to save the changes and exit the system setup program.

If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
  1. Follow the instructions on the screen while the infrared sensor driver is being installed.

  2. At the end of the installation process, click Yes to restart the computer.

My dell latitude d610 cannot access an infrared connection. please help me.

You need to enable IR in the BIOS.
When the laptop boots, press F2 to go into setup.

Within there you can enable the Infra Red.

Infrared or bluetooth on latitude d600 not working

first of all, did the first solution provider acutally believe that a good dell latitude d600 would be made by such a horrible company as compaq? thats insulting. Secondly, Dell doesn't seem to provide drivers, and i have yet to remember wher i got them in the past. In the mean time, next time you reboot the computer, press F2 to enter the BIOS setup. Press F2 untill you see a page mentioning something about either Infrared, IR, or IrDA. Make sure it is set to enabled. If you are lucky, windows will see it and attempt to download the drivers. Being i am running the Windows 7 Beta, i have yet to convince windows to do that. Good Luck

There is no availabe network driver for this Latitude d600 found on the dell support website that will work for vista. Most probably this computer is not configured to work with vista.

Call Dell Technical support for answers.

The flickering may not be caused by a corrupt driver, it could be the impending failure of the fluorescent back light of the display or its high voltage supply.

Trying driver replacement though is the first thing to try.
If the original driver is corrupt, you can try the following;

- Right-click on My Computer
- Left-click on Properties
- Click on Hardware tab
- Click on Device Manager
- Locate and open Display Adaptors
- Locate the video listing for your
- Highlight and delete this
- Reboot the computer

If Windows does what it should (no guarantee on this!), it will 'find' a 'new device' and install the driver for it.
