Press Function button at front of unit until display shows Tuner, and press Preset + / Preset -
If you want to listen Non-Preset stations, press << / >> keys of remote to tune a station. That's the procedure.

Stations are selected and stored in memory at the receiver. After that, the RECEIVER (or equivalent) button on the remote can be pressed and CH UP/DOWN (or equivalent) used to select stored stations.

Just can not turn modele191va on with remote. Just got it home and nothing works . Please help

Generally:1step check bateries in remote
2step is to find IR mark or simular point on device ,and check that is not some object in front which can broke or close or hide that,in way that signal from remote can not came in controled device

3step is to come more close and find IR glass on device and put remote top side where is IR(infra red) diode to exact direction
4 step is to visually check top of remote, and remote IR signal point of reception, maybe is some sticker on it.
And if is new, remote and device, which is not previouslly used, sometimes makers even they put charged batteries, they put some paper or plastic which prevent contact of bateries that bateries in remote get discharged, so look for it,and remove it..
(sorry i dont own device, but this is way for all, if your device and remote not use IR signal that only means that remote not need be putted in allmost good direction,if work with radio signal, but i dont belive it,as its rare, and more expensive way for remote control)

The remote will not work

Hi!

First thing to do is to check if the remote really don't work. Here's a very simple way to do that: If you have a digital camera or a mobile phone with a camera, start the camera and point the remote control to the lens. Push a button on the remote and look on the screen of the camera/mobile phone. If the remote control works, the camera will be able to show the IR beam on it's screen.

If no light beam is coming from the remote control, it will be very easy to make it working again. Please remove battery, open the case of the remote by unscrew (if present) any screw, and, using a plastic card open carefully the case. Now please take every part and simply wash it with dish washing liquid or liquid soap and warm water. Now, be sure everything is very good dryied, best with a hair dryer, put all parts carefully togheter and ...that's it.

Please let me know if it helped.

Good luck!

I have a new ESTR 200 that has been in a closet for a couple of years. Very little seems to function well. The presets will not hold if I turn the system off or if I turn to another function. Record...

I assume we're talking about the Element ESTR200...

A turntable will not work with this receiver unless the TT is already preamplified. No Phono Preamp in this unit.

Presets:

From the manual...

Store a station
1. Press the FM/AM button on the front panel (or
the AM/FM button on the remote).
2. Select the station you want to store in memory
by the methods described above.
3. Press the MEMORY button on the remote
While "MEMORY" is glittering, press number
buttons on the remote for the station.

If the Memory indicator on the display turns off before you preset the station selection, Press Memory again.

Manual preset
1. Select the band wave by pressing FM/AM
repeat.
2. Turn to a radio station(see "Manual tuning" on
page 8 in details).
3. Select a group (A- D) of preset stations. This
group will be displayed on the front panel.
For example: "A".
4. Press MEMORY on the remote control.
"MEMORY"will appear on the display.
5. While the word "MEM" appears, input your desired preset number (1-8 ) by using the numeric keys on the remote control to store the radio station. For example this number is "1", the station is stored as "A1".
NOTE:
A new setting can cover the former one.
This memory is kept before next reset.

Retrieving preset stations

The remote control does not operate the unit.
-Another function is selected on the remote.
Press the correct function button.
-No batteries installed. Install the batteries before
using the remote.
Be sure "+" and "-" marks of each battery match the symbol on the inside of the remote battery compartment.
-The batteries are exhausted. Replace all batteries.
-The remote is not pointed at the remote control sensor on the main unit or there is an obstacle between the remote and the main unit.
-The remote control is too far away from the main
unit, move closer.

Bose 321 Remote not working

Pull off the front panel, be carefull there is a ribbon attached. Detach the ribbon. There are 2 ribbons attached to the front panel, one that leads to the IR (remote sensor) and other for the controls on the top of the unit.

Most likely the ribbon that goes to the IR sensor detached itself, this is common if the unit is dropped etc. Insert the ribbons (2) re-attach the front panel and the remote should work fine. You'll notice some tape on the IR ribbon, I suggest using some stronger tape, BOSE tape thats not very good.

This happened to me on my 3-2-1 GS II system and fixed it.
