Spontaneous Dialing *88888***8888

My razr goes through fits of dialing *88888888* on its own, jumps between screens abruptly, and dials voicemail on its on accord. The touch pad is clearly can I take the phone apart to attempt to clear the debris that might be causing this? Is this better left to professionals? Guidance appreciated..

I had the same problem with a RAZRV3xx, with the 3 key. My solution was to blow compressed air at the keypad, so far, this works.

This sounds like the keypad got wet and the contacts got corroded - your only solution is to replace the keypad.

If it's simply doing this on it's own with out you toching any keys what so ever it could be more a software problem i would try to get a data cable, download the software update program from and update the software. If that doesn't work then remove the cover off the back of the phone (below the battery) There along the sides you will see metal tabs. You will need to bend them upright then slowly remove the keypad from the front. Be careful as these tabs will break if stressed too much. Clean everything out and put back together and see if that helps.

This sounds like a problem with the flex keypad. Did you get it wet? It's relatively simple to replace the keypard, really. However, you're going to have to take your keypad off which means you're going to have to be very careful not to damage it. You'll have to purchase a new flex keypad. As if I didn't mention it before, has some for sale.

What button to dial voicemail.

There is no "button" to dial the voicemail. (you didn't read manual).
You access your voicemail by dialing YOUR OWN CELL NUMBER.
(find it here): Menu / Settings / Phone info / Build info / YOUR #.
(copy it down)

If your cell # is: 101-555-1234, DIAL: 1015551234 / hit green phone.
Just follow all the voice prompts to set up your greeting message,
access & delete voicemail messages, etc..

Place it in double parenthesis, just like this: "VOICEMAIL"
When you open phone and hit the contacts button, it will ALWAYS
be the very FIRST contact in your list of contacts. DARN HANDY!!

Your phone manual can be found here.

Otherwise, try contacting your operator to see if you need to call a certain number to recieve your voicemails.

My razar keeps dialing 1 and call my voicemail when I don't touch the phone may you please help me with my phone as soon as possible.

I have seen this issue with the v3 before it is a software glitch, if you have the USB cable, google for P2KTools, and then search some of the cell forums for a newer firmware, but check your carrier's site they usually have them as well and flash newer software to the phone.

Blank screen

My RAZR V3 has done that also.

Taking out the battery for a few minutes and then putting it back in and turning it back on usually fixes the problem for me. Once I had to take out and reseat the SIM chip also before putting the battery back in.

If those suggestions don't fix it, let me know.

Keyboard seems to be shorting out

the problem where your voice dialing button on the side is depressing by itself, it either has liquid or the key itself is getting stuck , take a flat screwdriver n file the edges of the place where it houses the voice dialing button, if still persists, u need to clean the liquid off the flexi that houses the voice dialing button.

Phone goes off dialing 777 over and over again

Does the problem occur while you are talking? That is when you barely touch the keys while talking. If it does you have a bad keypad. You can order another. Just google "razr parts". There is also several manuals on how to disassemble it. If it is still less than a year old and there is no apparent physical damage you may have it sent under warranty. When all possible go with the warranty.
