it would have been helpful to have the model number and make of the device in question.
Using my physic powers I have a vision of a laser printer- wait it is becoming clearer it has a photostatic drum that has a limited life of maybe 10,000 prints. I am sensing a replacement laser photostatic drum may be required in the device.
Does the words harp or carp or wait maybe sharp mx sound familiar with the words laser printer ring a bell

Hp inkjet printing solid black page

Hi Robert, if you're trying to copy something that you've placed on the glass without closing the cover of the copier, there's too much back light (coming from behind the item to be copied) and therefore the resulting page will be black. The only light should come from within the copier itself.
If the item you're copying is bulky and will not allow the cover to close, try taking an 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper and cutting out only enough of the page to allow your item (to be copied) to sit flat on the glass while covering the remaining exposed glass with the paper.
I hope this helps, good luck.

Its a fixing film error, it means that fixing folie is worn out.If you do not want to change fixing heater you may try to buy Katun film only, but it isn long term solution.

Try to turn of and on and you may get few more copies.

If you have over 500 000 copies change the whole fixing unit

Some people have success with varying brands of generic carts, some don't. You can try copying many pages of anything many times. say 50, then run head clean routine. Repeat up to 250 copies. If after this still white pages, get genuine carts and repeat until it works. If no go the head is probably clagged up with generic ink. Then you need to pull it and soak, but don't hold your breath.....

Lexmark X5100 printer. I copied a small item 3x3 and doubled its size. Now when I try to copy a full page only one small corner is reproduced. It appears I lost a default setting. How do I get a full page...

If you are using your All-In-One without it being attached to a computer and scanning a document that is getting cut off on the edges:
1 Move the document to a different place on the glass.
2 On the operator panel, press the Reduce/Enlarge button
repeatedly until Fit to Page appears.
3 Press Select.

If you are using your All-In-One attached to a computer:
1 Move the document to a different place on the glass.
2 From the software, select a copy setting with autocrop on (Color Photo or Black and White Photo) to make sure that autocrop finds the object and prints it completely.

1 From your desktop, double-click the Lexmark X5100 Series
All-In-One Center
icon. The All-In-One Main Page appears.
2 Click Preview Now to see your scanned image.
3 Select a quantity and color for your copies.
Note: To choose a paper size or further customize your copy
job, click See More Copy Settings.
4 Click Copy Now.

Note: When autocrop is on, the object (wherever it is placed
on the glass) will be printed in the upper left corner of the
page. This might make your copy look different from the
original.

try the above and post back so I know if your issue is fixed or you need more assistance

I would try changing the ink cartridges and if you don't have a new set at least take out the ones you have and reseat. Also check Epson's site for new drivers. Try printing from a different program.
