Opening chat in Yahoo Mail

When I go to show I am "available" for chat while in Yahoo mail I get an error message saying I need to upgrade to Adobe flash 9.0 which I have done repeatedly with no positive results, still get the same error message. What do I need to do to be able to engage in Yahoo chat sessions while in Yahoo mail?

First you need to close the Yahoo messenger. As if login with it then the webpage of Yahoo will show you offline for chat..
Otherwise just login in Yahoo messenger and to any contact, double click on contact and find if you are able to chat with it then everything is OK.
Let me know in either case, we will resolve the issue ASAP.

There is no chat in my yahoo mail

Good Day Fe!

You should upgrade the internet browser you are currently using as this may no longer support or does not support the chat feature of Yahoo Mail.

Listed below are the most common internet browser download sites that you can access to download to upgrade your current internet browser.

1. Internet Explorer Download

2. Mozilla Firefox Download

3. Google Chrome Download

And, once you download and install your chosen internet browser, you can find the chat feature of Yahoo Mail available in your account.

Good Luck Fe!
And happy chatting.

I log into my yahoo e-mail account and then within 3 seconds it kicks me out and says to log in again???

Yahoo mail has chat activated and that's why Yahoo Messanger logs you out because you cannot have two instances of it running. To fix this, on Yahoo Mail screen, under Chat & Mobile Text, select Sign out of Chat and it will show I'm Offline. In this way it won't kick you out of Yahoo Messenger anymore.

I can log onto yahoo mail, and i try to log onto chat from there and it will say its loading then wont sign in and says offline. Im confused on what to do.

Chat in Yahoo! Mail is only available with the following browsers:
-Internet Explorer version 6.0 and newer
-Firefox versions 2.0 and newer
-Safari version 3.0 and newer

If you are using an older browser version, please upgrade your browser to one of these supported versions.

To chat in Yahoo! Mail, you'll need Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115 (or higher). In case you need a newer version, you can download and install the latest Flash Player here for free.

Also, note that you can't be logged in in both Mail and Messenger with the same ID to chat. Hope this solves your problem, if not post back.

My e-mail page when I go to In-box it has changed to a different set up from when I tried to get on Chat room this weekend it messed up everything for me and I would like to get rid of Chat room on yahoo...

You need to disable the Chat. In the top-left of the Yahoo Mail page, click the word between your Yahoo! ID and Sign Out (it'll be either Available, Busy, or Invisible). From the menu that appears, select Sign out of Chat to disable chat from within Yahoo! Mail. Your Contacts list disappears and your chat status is set to Offline.

This i with regards to the yahoo mail wherein I can email and at the same time can do chatting. I wanted to know how to block chatting in an open yahoo mail.

After opening your mail link, look just to the top left of the page where you see Yahoo Mail and "Hi (your name). To the right of that you will see a "Smilely" and "Available". Drop the window and select "Invisible" and you are all set.

Can't stay signed-in to YM, always getting disconnected

You can only have one yahoo "Instant message capable" program open at one time. So if you move from Messenger to mail or chat you will get this message. If you want to have Yahoo Mail open with another Yahoo IM program you will have to set your status to "offline" in MAIL by using the dropbox next to your name ( all new mail) select "sign out of chat"
In Classic mail its located in the Inbox. Your online chat contacts will vacate the inbox until you make yourself "Available" again.
Yahoo classifies - Messenger - Mail - webmessenger - my yahoo - mobile phones - computers etc etc as different computers or devices - hence the confusion.

Error on yahoo mail

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. If all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. click yes when asked do you want to opt out.
