Does your dishnet box have two tuners or one, if only one then only the program being watch on the tv can be recordered , this will have to be connected to the av input on the recorder and one of the av (line input) selected with the remote control for the recorder, If the dishnet box as two tuners then the output from one tuner can be used to feed the tv and the other one will go to the recorder connected through the av input. hope this will help regards windyhouse
ZNREL, I've done this with Dish Pro before. Setup the Dish remote to control the Mag combo in the VCR position. Press the SAT button and select the guide. Go to the program in the guide and select it. The "record this program" routine should pop up, set it up. Here's the key, make sure the Dish remote has the VCR button selected and that the remote is placed where it can "see" the Mag combo. At the set time, the Dish remote will change the DishPro to the proper channel and then issue s "record" command via infrared to the Mag combo to start recording. DishNet has all of the device codes to their remotes downloadable from their site.
Note: In order for you to watch your TV your TruTech T650-DR must be on. Not shure what you mean by code? but setup go,s like this.
Out DISHNET to in on your Trutech T650-DR
Out TruTech T650-DR to in TV Note: the name of the input on your TV video 1 or video 2.
Just like your DISHNET you need to be on Ch 3 or 4 what ever is open.
turn on your DISHNET and your Trutech T650-DR Do you see a Trutech logo on your TV?
If yes, Keep pressing the source Button on your Trutech T650-DR remote Tell you have a TV Ch. then press the return button.
use your DISHNET remote to watch your tv.
thats it hope I could help.
Unfortunately, no. The tuner in your DVD recorder works differently than how your satellite receiver works. You *must* use the satellite receiver to select the active channel, and then send that channel to one of the inputs on your recorder. You can then record that channel. Unless your satellite receiver is has "dual tuners" in it, you are stuck watching the same channel that the DVD recorder is recording.
If your goal is primarily time-shifting of shows (as opposed to archiving shows forever to DVD), you might consider getting a different satellite receiver with a built-in DVR (hard disk recorder). These allow you to mark shows in advance, have them recorded to the hard drive, and then you can watch them whenever you want, skipping all the commercials. You also get the ability to pause and rewind live TV.
