Have a toshiba tp 61H95 proj TV- want to connect panasonic dvd recorder and toshiba vhs recorder so I can copy family videos to dvd- can't get hook ups set up for both to work.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

I have a Sony SLV-SE 710B VCR and a Sony Bravia HD TV I now wish to record my videos (about a 100) onto DVD. What Sony DVD recorder will take the output from this VCR and put it onto disc or do I have to...

You need to buy Sony DVD Recorder and hook Sony VCR to that dvd recorder and burn DVD directly. You can also watch VCR tape movie on TV via dvd recorder while its being burn on dvd.
Click Sony Style to select DVD recorder.

VCR will not play back correctly.

The lines usually mean a signal loss or the unit is significantly out of alignment. This unit needs to be aligned with an alignment tape for starts. Also, the heads may be slightly clogged which will require a cleaning by a professional. Cleaning tapes will not completely clean the heads. It is possible that the head/drum motor is not locked to the correct speed as well although that usually causes a loss of color.

What speed is the tape? Try a tape recorded at a different speed and report the results here.

Thanks,
Dan

Sound but no picture

Most likely the VCR needs a head cleaning. This is common when playing older or rented tapes as the oxide recording surface can flake off and clog the video heads. You can try a head cleaning cassette. Make sure to get a wet-type cassette which you moisten with the included cleaning fluid.

Unfortunately this is not always successful for severely clogged heads. It may be necessary to remove the cover and clean the heads with a chamois cleaning swab moistened with head cleaner. Hold the swab flat against the round drum that holds the heads and move the drum back and forth while holding the swab steady. Repeat this for each of the heads. The heads are fragile and can be damaged by incorrect cleaning, so you might want to see what a shop in your area charges. (The shop I worked in used to charge $20, but that was several years ago.)

There's also the chance there's been head failure or some other problem has developed, but dirty heads are very common.

Hi, my vcr have a problem. I can watch the picture, that is ine. When i try to record, the record stuff can't be watch as there are flakes everywhere. Can i get some help?

The heads are dirty. Try using a cleaning tape. If that fails to resolve the problem, you will need a professional cleaning and alignment.
