A small heatsink fan might very well be enough to dispel the heat on the northbridge. If you can find a small heatsink/fan would be a better solution, but doubtful that you'll be able to mount it on the chip if it's not setup for one to begin with. Try the heatsink, and go grab a $5-$10 case fan to help with some airflow. If the Athlon itself is heating up, getting a better cooling fan/heatsink combo. Alternately there are some liquid coolers out there that would definitely keep you cool, but they can be a little cumbersome.

sounds like 8x agp. go to new egg.com. good deals on vid cards there. unfortunately for you the agp doesent get into the higher end video cards. nor does the standard pci. the transfer rates just aren't fast enough. but unless you are doing serious gaming either pci or agp will give you about the same frame rates.
