Re: sixaxis control problem
Is the lithium ion battery connected? sometimes when reassembling the controller the red/black wire from the flat LI battery gets damaged. if you forced it shut, it will never work...all the plastic pieces towards the back (by the R1 L1 buttons) have to match up perfectly. it should close smoothly if correctly aligned

Sometimes your joystick on xbox controllers can become stuck. To fix this you can do one of two things. you can ether buy a can of air used to clean out computer keyboards and spray it inside the analog stick. Sometimes if that does not work you can also disassemble your controller with a t8 torc screwdriver. Ones disassembled use hot water on and below the analog stick to get rid of unwanted grim. This should fix the problem.
Well, it's simple. what kind of controller do you have, and how old is it? the 2 Sony six axis controllers i bought with my ps3 had buttons that stopped working on them. so it is possible if it is an old controller that the sixaxis just simply "went out" BUT when psn does go back up tomorrow download the little big planet demo or pop the game in if you already have it. it uses the sixaxis to move their heads. GTA4 also has sixaxis parts to it. and you can access that in the phone menu while playing the game. But you might just have to buy another controller if yours isn't working. Hope it helps!
If you've already removed the batteries and replaced them, then I think there is a small hole on the bottom you could stick a paper clip into an press a button to do a reset. You may have to re-sync the controller with the console after doing this. I don't have one of these, but I've heard of doing this before.
i have face the the same problem with my ps2 conttroler. In my case it was the problem with the analog (the sticks). May be the spring of your left analog is broken is broken. Do not try to open it yourself and fix, it can disturb the wiring of the remote. Take it to your local ps repair shop or you will have to buy a new one
I picked up the folling troubleshooting tips from the PlayStation Knowledge Center. I know it may seem silly or insulting; This is not my intention. Problems like this are usually just little things you're over-looking. Give thest tips a shot, one by one, and see if your solution is in here. If it isn't, message me back here & we'll try something else to get your controller working, ok? By the way... Is it a sixaxis controller or dualshock?
Verify if the SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller works with the USB cable.
Verify that the SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller's battery is charged.
Attempt to pair the SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller to another PLAYSTATION 3 system. This helps determine whether the problem is with the system or the controller.
Attempt to connect another SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller to the PLAYSTATION 3.
Move closer to the PLAYSTATION 3 system. The maximum range for Bluetooth is 30 feet.
Make sure you have less than seven Bluetooth peripherals paired with the PLAYSTATION 3.
Unplug any other USB device plugged into the system when pairing the SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller.
No, it's not possible to hook up sixaxis to PS2. Sixaxis is a part of DualShock 3 for PS3 which is an optional feature in the PS3 games. Playstation 2 controllers run off of DualShock 2. So sorry, but you're gonna need a PS3 for that.
Is either getting a new one or try to swap out a good Joy stick from another controller, I am having the same problem and I already gone thru 4 controllers. I really wish they can fix the Joy stick slacking so easy................................ at 53.00 CAd a pop which normally last me no more than 10 months+.
