Lock function on movie function prohibits me from deleting the movie. How do I unlock the lock from the various images?

Lock function on movie viewing prohibits me from deleting the movie. How do I unlock the lock from the various images? It doesn't say in the manual. I don't know how it was engaged.

Depending on the card, there may be a little slide lock on the side that you can move with your thumb to lock and unlock.

How do i turn off "File Protect" and be able to delete again. It won't let me delete pictures and there is a little animated figure on the print that says digital camera out to the side with...


You have accidentally selected lock option.You need to select unlock option for the same. Press the menu button and then press right/left button to select the protect menu. Then you need to select unlock and that would turn off file protect.

I have a Kodak Easy Share C182 . I want to delete some pictures and it tells me to remove protection to delete, and it also tells me image is protected please tellmje stepby step how to clear this...

The most common cause for telling you that the card is locked is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position.
- see photo below:
Set the lock slider to locked or
  • The down position will enable write-protection, locking the card.
  • The up position will unlock the card, enabling you to save and erase data on the card

I have a A1250 ge camera. on the sreen reads Write Protect. How do i remove this

Take out the memory card. On one side of the card you'll find a tiny slider with probably 2 small symbols (an open and a closed pad lock). Move the slider to the 'open pad lock' position to unlock the card. It's a safety thing to avoid accidental deletion of your images, but it also locks the card so you can't record onto it either. Anyway, unlocking the card should solve your problem.

Cannot turn off picture lock

Connect your camera to PC with Windows XP or Vista via USB, open MyComputer and there should be a camera, which appear as new disk, open it and delete any image you need!

Protected pictures cannot be erased using [ERASE],
[SEL. IMAGE] or [ALL ERASE], but they are all erased by
• Go to Playback mode in the camera. Select the picture to be unlocked with the left or right arrow buttons, and to remove the protection select ON with the up or down arrow button.

Locked Card

Take the memory card out of the camera. Look at it carefully and you will seea small tab. Move the tab from the locked position to the unlocked position. Re-install the memory card into the camera and then you're done.
