Question about Mitsuba DV9002 Flash Media Camcorder

Memory is full

Hi,

I bought a Mitsuba DV9002 in August. It has a slot for a SD card and a slot for a DVD. I have tried to record to the 4G SD card only, the DVD only, and I have even tried to record with both in the camera and I must not have it on a correct setting because after 3 minutes the camera says that memory is full. I am assuming that it is only recording to the memory on the camera and not to the SD card or DVD.

The instruction manual is not very helpful with troubleshooting.

Please help!

Thanks,

Gretchen i have the sam eproblem can anyone help?

Try formatting the card first. You can use another camera, or a computer with card reader for this. On a pc right-click on the card in My Computer and choose format. On a Mac, hold control and click on the card in Finder and choose format. Try it in the camcorder again. Also, some card speeds or sizes might not work in your camera.

You can try first to connect this camera to your computer via USB and format the SD card because sometimes if the SDcard is not formatted you wont be able to use it until you format the SDcard...so after formatting try to record again and see if it will be save to the SDCARD now...

Hi,

Initially, pls try:

  • formatting the 4G SD card; and/or
  • trying a different DVD disc, perhaps a -R.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

The instruction manual should have instructions on how to set it to use the SD or DVD. I'll have to find myself a copy and figure it out for you. if you have the manual on a CD or on your computer

go into system settings and then format storage

if you have noting important in the camera, format all the storages available on the screen, it will erase everything on them.

    Then try again.

Also you can try Default settings, it will change everything back to normal.

Need help working my camcorder/camera

In order to record, the camera needs to have a memory card installed. This particular camera needs an SD format card. If the camera does not have a card installed, the card is not properly formatted, or the card is full, you will not be able to record. Also, these cards have a write protect lock tab. Make sure that the tab is not in the lock position. The card should be formatted FAT32. If you can read the card on your computer, make sure it is not full and that the card is formatted FAT32. If you have another camcorder or camera that uses SD cards, you might want to try formatting the card, just to be sure.

Use a higher quality SD card. PNY or SanDisk usually works well with flash camcorders. Also make sure it's a HCSD card ( High Capacity ).

You can record to any DVD disk. The only difference between single layer and double layer is the amount of information you can put on the disk.

MITSUBA DV9002, WON'T RECORD TO DVD OR DOWNLOAD TO COMPUTER

Ok, discovered a few things. You guys are absolutely right. I looked in the side compartment for the DVD, there is nothing in there to do the recording, so yes....it is for looks. The "lens" or what you think is the lens in fact is just the viewing tube to sight the picture. The actual lens is the little dot below the tube. Cam is very light sensitive and will pixelate badly if you try to zoom in on anything.
However, I did figure out that you have to have the knob on the side set to USB in order to pull pics off camera. I agree with the above post.....it is a piece of junk!!!!
