Sharp Linytron 13" Remote Problem

I got a Sharp Linytron 13" television with no instructions. Tv model number 13SB50 Remote number G0549CESA The remote doesn't have a menu button but does have a memory button and add button and an erase button. I can't get channels above 36.
When the red dot by the red LCD channel display on the TV is lit (by toggling the memory button on the remote) the channel up and down buttons work as expected but skip channels from 37 to 94 both ways. And random access works on all channels but 37 to 94. If you push in a channel from 37 to 94 the tv just stays on whatever channel you are currently on.
When the red dot is not lit the channel up and down buttons cycle between channel 4 and 36 only. And random access doesn't work, it just returns you to the channel you are currently on.
I have tried the STD, HRC, and IRC slide switch on the back but can' see any difference. My cable provider is WOW out of Columbus OH.
I haven't had any success playing with the memory, add, and erase buttons. Does this model just not get those channels or is there something obvious that I am missing about adding channels? Any help would be greatly appreciated, football is on and I can't see it. Thanks.

I have a very similar problem with a Nexus LCD. We have programmed several remotes and the channel up/down key will work for a few days. Suddenly, it will stop working. When you check the menu for channel memory, all memory has been cleared. The only way you can access channels is by using the numeric key pad. HELP!

You need the original remote for that. Try "remote controls.com" and I believe they should have one. If not, let me know.

SOURCE: magnavox with pic tube tv skips over channel 3..goes from 2 to 4

You are right about the auto-programming, but Magnavox no longer has the original remote.

For my answer to be right, you must have posted this question to the EXACT CORRECT model # of your Magnavox TV - 27ms343s:

Press TV on your Verizon remote, and then press "0" and "3"

If that fails:
Press MENU to see the TV’s on-screen
menu. In the menu, use VOL.+/_ and
CH.+/_ to make adjustments or selections.
You can press MENU on either the
remote control or the front of the TV to
access or remove the menu.

SOURCE: My Olevia TV will not change channels using the remote or buttons

First thing, check batteries in remote, next make sure there are no obstructions between your remote and your tv. i would then call olevia tech support and describe your problem. sounds like the remote sensor has failed. usually covered under warranty. check with olevia to see if they have a factory wide problem or issue with remotes. persistance pays off in this case so just keep on top of tech support. hope this helps, john.

My rca xl 100 remote will not work. I have changed the batteries multiple times. I was just wonder if i could buy a new rca remote and be able to have it work on my tv?

Yes,, you can easily purchase a new remote and have it work on that TV. In the packaging for the new remote you will find a piece of paper that contains the necessary remote codes for your TV. Follow the instructions provided with the remote and you are all set!

Romote will not turn t v on or off

if remote is universal remote, you will need to find the code to correspond with the maker of the television, most universal remotes come with programing instructions, check owners manual of tv for codes which now adays they include. Without the model number, i cannot help further, other than suggesting you try fresh batteries and make sure the sensors are clean on tv and remote.. best of luck

Horizontal output transistor damage or get short when on..what is the right parts of the transistor? sharp linytron 110 volts.

Check the diode and transitor associated with this circuit. Mostly in the EHT transformer side. Better replace with a identical type. It is difficult to find the leakage in the diode.

Unless you rectify this, any number of times you replace the power transistor, it will immediately get shorted!

you need to get an adapter for the cable hook up. you probably have screws on the back for an regular antenna. you can buy an adapter at radio shack or one of your electronic stores. this would have an cable connection on one end and 2 u's on the other to screw into the back of your tv. you just need an adapter. or you can find 10' portable tv's and lower at www.radioshack.com that would work with cable.
