Question about Dell Latitude L400 (220-3575) PC Notebook
Hi guys thanks for any help, my question is-
I have a dell L400 laptop is very small and does not have cdrom drive only external floopy drive any way this computer malfuction about a month ago it wont start windows xp I think is the Blue screen problem any way, the computer boots but it wont go pass the windows loading logo it shuts off and goes back to boot. ok I figure maybe is the windows xp problem I want re install xp on this computer but the problem is that this computer does not come with cd rom drive, I made the 6 boot floopy
disk for xp pro and installation takes me all the way to floopy disk #6 but after that it says that it did not find cdrom and could not install windows xp, ok now that you know this please tell me
Q- If I was to buy a cd rom drive for this computer will I need to use the 6 disk set for booting?
Q-If I was to buy a cd rom drive can I buy a cd rom with "usb" connection?
Q- will this computer support usb cd rom drive for booting and if it doesn't can I use my 6 floopy boot disks and maybe isntall the usb cd rom @ the last disk step will my computer read this cd rom drive?
Q-does the dell L400 laptop has a factory cdrom drive and if it does where does it connect?
Q-is possible to make a usb boot in this type of computer?

1.If you purchase an external USB CD drive you will not need to use your floppy discs for booting. 2. You can connect a USB CD drive to your system. 3. Your system will recognize any device plugged into your USB drive. 4. There is no CD drive available for internal installation in your computer. 5. With the USB CD drive plugged in and the windows installation disc inserted, your computer should take you through the setup program automatically.
