Hi, I appreciate your response but I don't know where the flyback is. Can you direct me? Thanks again for your time

Hi, You certainly go above and beyond in your help. Thank you. When I
pulled out my TV looking for the flyback it tipped over. The color got
all messed up, greens and purples. I degaussed / demagnetized
it by quickly turning the TV on and off several times. Now my problem
is how to get my Sony off the floor and on the stand!. Thanks for all
    your time and effort.

If you know where the fly back is, ok open the casing and see at the back of the fly back, there are two knobs, one for the focus and the other is for the brightness. Try twist both and see which one is for the focus. Ok, from the focus knob try adjusting until the fuzzy sight disappears. Try this, I usually do it to screens with blurry appearances.

    A
flyback should look like this. From the flyback there is a tube like
with a cone connected to the cathod Ray Tube (CRT) show in the pic.
Becareful the CRT contains Hight voltage.

I have a sony (model KP61V75) a split screen came on (two pictures) and I cannot figure out how to get it back to one screen. Im going crazy!

Some television remote controls have a PIP OFF button, while others only have a PIP button that needs to be pressed repeatedly until the PIP/Twin-View window disappears.

NOTES:

  • Some Sony rear projection televisions have a FLASH FOCUS button that will turn off the PIP/Twin-View feature.

  • Some Sony universal remote controls, if programmed to operate a Sony TV, can disable the PIP/Twin-View feature by pressing the REC or ENT button.

  • If the original TV remote control is not available or is not functioning properly, auto programming the television tuner orperforming a power reset may deactivate the PIP/Twin-View feature.

  • If pressing the appropriate buttons on the TV remote control does not work, then the PIP/Twin-View window might be from a two-tuner cable or satellite set-top box. If this is the case, use the remote control provided with the set-top box to remove the PIP/Twin-View window.

I have owned an emerson tv for two years now. All of a sudden the picture has become very blurry and white. It is not the cable connection and a DVD is also white and blurry. Even the input channels are...

you must open the back cover of tv, and then things you should do is set "SCREEN" adjustment on the flyback transformer. you must turn it counterclockwise to reduce and decrease the level of screen brightness. turn screen adjustment gradually until the horizontal blanking lines disappear from the screen. and blurred images will be sharp again

RCA 32V420T 32" TV

This RCA set uses the CTC187BD chassis. Look on the back of the set and to the right of the cable connector you will see 2 controls sticking out, one on top of the other. The top control is for focus and the bottom one is screen, or overall brightness. If these controls have been turned clockwise then you will have a bright, fuzzy picture with white lines (retrace lines) through it. Tune in a channel with white letters on the screen and turn the top (focus) control until the letters are crisp and sharp. Go into the menu and turn the contrast and brightness all the way down, and then turn the bottom control (screen) until you can just see the picture, just above the point where the picture is too dark to see. Go back into the menu and reset the contrast and brightness and the picture will be back to perfect.

The TV does not have a reset button. If you have no picture and no sound, there is something wrong with the chassis. In this case the set should be serviced by someone experienced in the RCA CTC203 chassis. If you have no picture but do have sound, then it is possible that the 2 controls in the 2 little holes in the back of the set are not adjusted correctly. This is quite possible since you said you put a screwdriver in there and got a fuzzy picture. The control on the bottom is called "screen" and is the overall brightness of the picture and the control on top is called "focus" and is the sharpness of the picture.

Fuzzy or blurry picture

Ok with you I can skip the "do you have electronics experience?" questions. With 14 years under your belt you are a pro. So here we go. The problem you are experiencing is called blooming/loss of focus this occurs when there is an increase in CRT anode voltage and control of the electron guns (in the CRT) is lost. The result is the picture spreads and focus is affected. The problem can some times be taken care of by adjusting the focus control However if you have auto focus the auto focus circuitry might be the problem. The common parts (areas) to check are as follows: 1) Focus control (to see if the problem can be soled by adjustment) 2) IHVT anode (test to see if voltage is correct you will need a schematic and a high voltage probe) 3) CRT Socket board ( Check to see if the bias voltages and input signals are correct you will need a schematic, multimeter and oscilloscope) These would be the areas to check, I hope that you are seeing my point here. My next bit advise if not one of your experience, you have that, 14 years of it. However, you have little ones and they are your NUMBER ONE concern, So my advice would be to get the set repaired at a TV repair shop. The reason being is because even though I have named some places to start your troubleshooting, TV repair is not an easy thing and there may be other components that could have gone bad and you don't have the time to do investigative troubleshooting. I wish you well on this issue and take care of those little ones. Respectfully Submitted, Shuttle83
