Question about Canon PowerShot S2 IS Digital Camera
I made the mistake of buying a 'referbished' camera off ebay from completephotousa.com. Well it did come with a year warrenty but I was not aware I needed to send anything in. So of course, a few months later now I have problems. I believe its my CCD sensor or whatever you call it. I cant not see an image or scene when I am trying to take a picture. THe LCD works because I can view older pics off a memory card and the graphics and menus work. So I guess what i am asking is where I can get the part or parts I need. I cant find anything anywhere online. But I am assuming it would be cheaper if some how some way I can just order and replace the part myself. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
From a similar solved problem: I have read of this problem (doing research before buying a Canon S2). Apparently it is a bad sensor and Canon will fix it for free if it's still under warranty (otherwise it will cost $119.00). and I have the same problem. Just got off the phone with Canon and have to send the camera to them. Repair takes ~2wks. Call them @1-800-828-4040 and follow the menus. Canon's site also addresses this for the S1 and others (but not the S2). Says heat and high humity can cause a connection to the sensor to come undone. Hope this helps.
