Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II GSQ9669L Top Load Washer

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II still won't drain

Thanks for your advice about our washing machine. We removed the cabinet, checked the drain pump and sure enough, found one of our daughter's socks. We put it all back together and did a test run with just water and it drained - but when we actually tried a load it wouldn't drain. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help, Andrea

More than likely you have another garment in the pump or connecting drain line.
Check it all again.

Washing machine leaks

Go to fixitnow.com to find out how to remove cabinet. If it's a big leak it's most likely a hose; if a little leak, more likely the pump. Both easy to replace once you have cabinet off.

Hello, you may have a small drip from the pump or a small drip from the hose that goes from the pump to the rear of the cabinet. To make sure you will have to run the unit with the cabinet removed. A local service tech can remove the cabinet quicklyand isolate the leak.

Not draining and leaking from bottom

this unit uses a direct drive pump ( no belt connection , so if our motor is running you should be able to drain water, it s possible a small item has gotten into you pump, and has locked it up and not leaks. the top of you rmachine doesnt pop off, the entire cabinet actually comes off to gain acess. you can also tip the machine back and look underneath to see possble cause of leak. many videos on you tube showing access to the pump , easier to watch then try to explain how to do it , not hard at all though

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II - Whinning and leaking small amount of water

If the water is appearing in the front of the washer, you may have a leak in the drain pump. The link I'm posting below gives step-by-step instructions on how to replace the drain pump.

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

If it is not the drain pump, at least this gives you the necessary instruction on how to access the cabinet interior to inspect it properly. A whining noise could be something caught in the pump, or something stuck between the wash tub and outer basket. In order to run the washer with the case removed, you will need to by-pass the lid switch. this accomplished by jumpering the two BLACK wires on the lid switch connector at the timer. CAUTION: Unplug the washer before connecting the jumper wires. Then, plug back in and start the washer. Fill on the lowest setting and look for leaks.

NOTE: The drain pump is not serviceable and must be replaced if leaking.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.
