Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II GSQ9669L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II still won't drain

Thanks for your advice about our washing machine. We removed the cabinet, checked the drain pump and sure enough, found one of our daughter's socks. We put it all back together and did a test run with just water and it drained - but when we actually tried a load it wouldn't drain. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help, Andrea

More than likely you have another garment in the pump or connecting drain line.
Check it all again.

E04 Mashine does't drain

Hi, E04 means that you are not draining quick enough, if you are using HE detergant then your drain line is probably clogged. There is a round access panel on the lower right corner of your washer. If you stick a small screwdriver through the tiny little hole on this panel and twist the panel off you will see the drain pump catch. You can twist this cap off by hand and remove all the debris inside. WATCH OUT a lot of water will be coming through.

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADERS displaying the “F02” error code.

“F02” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

  1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
  2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
  3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

Yes its possible,I have removed 4" deck bugle head screws from the 90 degree rubber boot trap,a sock is just like a mouse,it will keep getting thinner till it make it through the inner tub to the outer tub and then to the drain, these pumps have a large amount of suction which contributes to this happening, its lucky that they made a 90 degree boot before the pump or things can get to the pump and stall the pump

Load not draining properly. have to run spin cycle multiple times.

Check drain hoses to be sure they are clear and not stoped up. You can probably tip the washer back to get to it underneath. If you have to, unhook them and run water through them. Check the water pump be sure it is turning. It may have something in it or be stripped and won't turn Take hose that goes from tub to water pump & be sure it is clear & don't have something in it like a sock to stop water flow. Check drain to sewer for water going out ok. Be sure drain hose is not too high unlikely. Best way is to remove cabinet so you can get to everything and see the water pump. Hope this helps.

Water does not drain completely in Estate Whirlpool top loading machine

Your drain pump is attached to the front of the drive motor.
The drain pump has lint/sock or some other garment stuck in it blocking water flow.
Remove the cabinet, then remove the drain pump to clear the blockage.

My washing machine does not drain and continures to give me a error f02 I have checked all the drain tubes they are clear

Thanks for using FixYa. F/02 error means Long Drain. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

My Estate washer will not drain.

Hey Don, If you removed the cabinet to get to your pump, you had to unplug the wire that connects to your lid switch. Did you make sure to plug the lid switch plug back into it's plug-in on top of your cabinet under control panel when you re-installed the cabinet. Your washer won't spin or pump water if this is the case. I'd check that first, then check the lid switch itself for proper operation. Happy to help, Tim. please don't forget to rate my help. Thanks.

flip up the control panel and pop the cabinet clips. Remove the cabinet and the pump is right in front. All you need is pliers and a screwdriver.

Water not pumping out in the spin cycle anymore

Check the drain pump and drain hoses. The drain pump is located in front of the motor. To access it, remove the end caps from the console. Remove the 2 screw holding the console to the cabinet. Pull the bottom of the console toward you slightly and flip the console up. Unplug the lid switch molex connector. Inserting a flat screwdriver from the top and pushing back, remove the brass clips on each side. Open the lid. Holding the inside of the cabinet, tilt it toward you and remove it from the base. This will give you access to everything including the drain pump and the drain hoses. Try to remove as much water as possible from the inside since it will all come out when you remove the drain hoses from the pump (hopefully you are near a drain in the floor). Remove the hose clamps and check the hoses and pump for any obstructions. Chances are, you will find a missing sock.
If it all looks clear, remove the drain pump from the motor and inspect where the pump connects to the motor for a broken connection slot. Replace the drain pump if necessary.
Good luck!

Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer...F02 and SUD not draining!!!!

Probably something caught in pump. Remove lower panel if this one has it and you will see the pump. Loosen the round cover in middle to access clean-out.
