The TV is in protect mode.

Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes or so, and see if this help.

If the TV does not restart, then try unplugging for longer.

If still no luck then that means that there is an internal fault, let me know if you get the led blinking a number of times, or if there is an error code message on the TV display.

Dear Sir/madam,

Unplugged power cable from back of tv (unplugging wall plug would probably accomplish the same) for 15 Min., plugged it back in

thanks
good luck

If you have the capibility of opening it, check the wires running from the power button to the circuit board. If everything is fine there, there is a short or a problem with one of the boards and would have to be professionally serviced.

Hi,

On similar concerns, the standby light or the red light would be flashing indicating that the unit has switched to protection mode. On some models, the number and sequence of flashes indicates the general area of the fault and where initial diagnosis can begin. Eventually the unit has to be opened up for a look and see. This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Incidentally, in the hope that this is a simple glitch, perhaps you can try unplugging from the mains and removing all connectors. After an extended period, reconnect and verify connections and try again.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Additionally, was there anything out of the ordinary prior to the incident such as power failure/interruptions, thunderstorm, TV used for an extended period pf time, the remotes has been inadvertently played with, or anything noteworthy.

what kind of cable are you connecting with? If you are using a Composite or S-Video cable perhaps you may want to use the VGA cable instead and see if that corrects the issue.

My lt23hvx power button does not work. I keep pressing the power button to turn on and it will not turn on

Hi,
If you're trying from the remote control, then try from the TV and see if it works. Or vice versa... Also, make sure the TV is plugged in (you would be really surprised to see how often this is a problem).
If there is no noise and no lights, then odds are your power supply is faulty. For that tv, you're looking at a replacement of less than $100.
Cheers, -SJ

I have 19" Olevia LCD TV and the red power light comes on when you plugged it in but the TV DOES NOT power on

You only have 5v standby voltage circuit working. The problem can be i nte main power supply or the main control board that send the signal to the main power supply to turn on. Those are the two place to look for.

Red lite comes on but tv will not power up.

Follow the solution for service port 'jump start' with a usb plug. Plug your cell phone charger in next to the TV. Touch the metal prongs of the service port with the metal part of the usb until you get a brief 'flash' on the TV. Then turn on the tv set. It takes patience and a flash light to do this, so you can see what your touching, as my husband couldn't get it to work, but I could.
