Your problem may be as simple as auto sign in disabled, you have probally alredy solved this but i will let everyone else know the solution if you whack the guide button, and go over to settings, if your using the xbox NXE dashboard, then click Profile, Then scroll down to auto sign-in and click there, and there shoul be a xbox live bit, make sure its enabled other wise you have to do it manually.

When i put the cd in for the network adapter ...it just doesnt play.....i also tried attaching the adapter but it doesnt detect it....whats next?

If you have win 7 switch the pc on and at the same time press delete several times and a box comes up.press the down arrow until it comes to the cd drive click on this, press enter and save and exit f10.Now see if you can play the cd.If it plays fine if it doesn't try putting it in the other c drive (if you have two drives)Some of these cd's only work on the ROM drives or" Master" drive. You should 've had a piece of paper with the xbox that gives you a "command" prompt like,"set up.exe"

Just about any newer routers should work fine with the Xbox 360 wireless adapter. It you are worried about compatibility make sure you get the newest Xbox 360 Network adapter. It is the black one with two antennas. It will work with just about any network.

My Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter stopped working.

Shut off your console and unplug everything.

Connect the adapter then connect the console back together...Turn on console......Go to network configuration...Make sure u are connecting the adapter from the back!

If you are not able to achieve a connection for several attempts this means your should check warranty status for the adapter also.........If you unplugged it while the console was one you could of shocked the cable an blew the fuse.......Normally when u detach any components with a usb port u should alway make sure every thing is shut off before so.

I cant connect to xbox live

The red meant it was ready for configuration. If there is no light it means it is not receiving power. Try plugging it in again, or plugging it in to a front USB slot. If it still doesn't work your adapter has a defect and should be replaced.

Xbox 360

  1. First, turn your Router off and wait for a couple of minutes (unplug power from the wall)
  2. Turn off your modem (unplug power from the wall)
Reboot both the devices and they will obtain a new IP address.

Let me know.

My Xbox 360 ADapter Cannot Aquire a IP Address from my Modem

can u please tell me which router it is? in most of the router there is a feature call DMZ. u need to enable the DMZ in the router & then u need to provide the static ip to Xbox 360 like 192.168.1.5 etc in the default getway u need to type the router IP address & on DNS u need to try three different settings 1st on primary DNS type the router ip address like 192.168.1.1, if it didn't work try with univeral DNS try on primary DNS as 4.2.2.2 & on secondary 4.2.2.1, if this didn't work either call ur ISP and ask for the DNS server address of ur ISP and try with that.
