Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

GHW9100LW randomly stops during cycles, has a severe clicking noise

For the past couple yrs I started noticing water would sometimes empty back into the tub after a load of clothes was removed. I would just spin out the excess and continue to use with no problems until recently. Clothes started being wetter when they finished a cycle and I would have to spin a second time before drying. Now the washer is randomly stopping in mid cycle, sometimes 22 min, 11 min, 7, 5 or even at 1 min remaining. I get an occasional F02 code but even it's not consistent. We have checked all the hoses for clogs or kinks and no problem. Yesterday at the suggestion of a parts store we pulled the pump filter drain to find all kinds of foreign objects like change, staples, lint and even an earring. We haven't installed the new pump/motor combo they sold us yet because we want to make certain that's the problem before we do. It seemed to be working ok except for the unusually loud clicking noise coming from the pump area and excessive shaking when spinning out, then this afternoon it has started stopping mid cycle again on heavier weight items. We aren't sure what to try next. We could install the new pump/motor but if that's not the problem we can't return it. Any ideas? I am ready to throw in the towel--pardon the pun.

Finally gave in and just installed the new pump/motor after we could find nothing else in the old one. It must have been the problem. No more clicking, or backing up water and we're into day two of heavy loads with no problems. Thanks for your help.

The water leaking back in may be due to a fill valve not fully shuting off allowing water to leak into washer after shut off...reclean pump ck as far as possible into pump itself something may be hung in impeller the shaking may be due to excess water in clothes causing off balance and shaking ..cleaning pump may solve problem..if possible pull pump completely out to clean ck pump impeller to be sure it has not come loose on motor shaft this would also cause slow or no pump out ..if impeller is loose replace pump..good luck

Whirpool Duet Sport: Stopping at start of cycle, cylce too long

If it is a manual timer, I would look there; if it's a digital timer, I would start at the solenoid. It may not be filling correctly and waiting for the fill to complete. Solenoids don't last long and are usually the first to go. Other than that, all you can do is put in a load and watch where it has a problem.

After working well for six months, my washer now expels water at random points during the wash and rinse cycles.

Check inside the fill hose for debris. There is a screen designed to block debris from getting inside the machine valve. If the screen builds up with debris the water slows down. Sounds like the water is filling too slow. Also the unit and/or the load may not be balanced causing it to stop and drain out. If it's okay then see what lights are blinking when these events occur and post here.

Machine will not spin or drain water.

I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.

Admiral makes rattling noise during spin

Hello, could be a possible bad pump. I would lean the washer back so you can see the belt. take the belt off and spin all of the pulleys. the pump pulley has a s leave that sometimes makes a grinding noise.

Spin Cycle

The tub will come to a very quick stop when there is nothing in the machine. The breaking noise is the nylon break pads in the break assembly. This noise can be stopped by putting talcum powder into the break assembly. As far as the machine stopping and smoking ? I suspect a stuck/partially stuck break causing the belt to slip and heat up.

Loud Clicking noise only for the first 30-40 seconds of spin cycle.

You may have something caught in the pump impeller. I have found nails, screws, drill bits, paper clips and other small items that some how make their way past the wash tub and into the drain line. I would inspect the drain pump. Remove as much water as you can. Using a wet/dry shop vac to pull water through the drain hose is the best way to drain all residual water from the pump and drain lines. Remove the inlet line first and inspect the pump impeller. Chances are, you have something stuck causing the impeller to rub against it. If this has gone on too long, you may have some damage to the pump. I hope this is helpful to you.

Loud squeaky Noise

this is not 100% diagnosis as can't listen to noise but fault may be bearing lip seal disintegrating which is a serious fault and if im right then bearing will shortly go as well. reason it is noisy during start is that seal is dry and gets wet when full of water
