Question about Candy CPCA250K Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Water at the bottom of the freezer door

Hi. It seems the fridge and freezer are both running okay, staying cold and I haven't timed it but I think the motor goes on and off as normal. But I get a build up of water underneath the freezer door. Where's it coming from? I've already emptied the little collector tray at the back and fully defrosted the unit. Is it simply a poor seal on the freezer door? If so, is it possible to get it fixed?

Hi there,
The seals around a fridge or freezer door are of a memory type rubber compound.
Therefore the way to repair / rejuvinate a seal that has become squashed over time is this.
Obtain a hairdryer and on a medium heat warm up the seal, you will see it plump in front of your very eyes! work your way around gently untill the whole seal has plumped up.
When done, allow to cool for a few minutes (if your hairdryer supports cold blowing then do that)!
Then close the door, you will feel the difference.
2 things to remember, firstly water and electric don't mix! Secondly ensure that you are only warminmg up the seal and not burning it, ensure you start from a distance.
Hope this helps you, Chris

ZFSB26DRESS water runs warm and freezer not staying cold.

It sounds like the condenser coils , the coils by the compressor , need cleaned badly . This (and the compressor cooling fan) , can cause the compressor to cut off on overload (due to the heat) , thereby not circulation refrigerant thru out the freezer coils .
The water line goes from inside the freezer door ( cold ) , under the refrig ( warm ) , then to the inside refrig water reservoir ( cold ) . After that , you should get cold water , until the reservoir is drained of cold water .

GE TPH21PRSM Both fridge and freezer not staying cold. About 2 months ago, freezer not staying cold. I removed back freezer panel and defrosted a block of ice. I am starting on the fridge first today. ...

You will need to defrost again. When you do, you should see the heater at the bottom of both section of coil. They are glass tubes with a heating coil inside. I think you will find the coil broken in one or both. They are sold as a pair. ( part # PS303934 @$74.41 ) Replace these. This will fix your defrost problem. If they are both good which I do think they are. You can ohm the termination thermostat, you will need to ice it down first due to it opens on the rise. It will need to be as cold as you can get it before you test it. If its good, the only thing left is the fan or timer.
P.S. the black W in the back of the fresh food section is a water restore that stores cold water for the freezer door.
Please rate solution. Thanks

Why does my maytag fridge drip water around the freezer door?

Freezer door frames have a small heating element in them to stop that happening. Your element is failed.

Torn gasket seals just cause frost inside, but also cause the compressor extra stress if the seal is bad. This causes the compressor to keep running as yours does. They are cheap to buy and easy to fit.

With a 12 year old one, it is probably time for a new one. The new ones are more energy efficient and are cheaper to run.

Indest Fridge Freezer

Possibly something was spilled and it got to the door gasket. Clean the door gasket area with warm soapy water. In the door there is nothing critical to the system operation that should cause the condition you have.
