I have the same problem with water having gotten behind the plastic front on the ice maker lever. I tried spraying it on both sides with Tilex bleach spray and let it stand for a bit. I also tried moving it a little bit, as I couldn't remove it and didn't have the right tools to remove the center screw. The bleach spray seemed to work quite well and may leave a preventative layer of hypochlorite behind. We'll see. I then sprayed water from a spray bottle and switched to crushed ice and collected a few cupfuls of crushed ices to get the bleach away from food surfaces.

Spray Tilex brand mold and mildew remover into the dispenser. Once you have let it sit for awhile wash it out with hot water.

Mold growing around ice dispenser area. Cant figure out how to get to the mold .

Pull ice maker out and clean it. Then make sure you have a fresh water filter on water supply. Mold in the freezer is uncommon if its truly freezing inside. You have dirty water coming in.

Ice production is very low

You should clean the coils beside the compressor. That helps.
Maybe think about replacing the water filter.
That ice maker makes 3 attempts to fill the mold. It's on board intel monitors changes in resistance when water is added to the ice mold.

Cleaning internal humidifier

Try using vinegar and distilled water.
If this does not work try using a little bleach and water. Repeat till mildew is gone.
Rinse thoroughly Again & Again.
Everyday humidifiers should be cleaned.
After your last uses try blow drying it. Before you put it away. If it's dry it will not mold or mildew.
Mold & mildew will cause you to get very sick.
If the mildew does not go away replace your unit.

I have a IM-4A and it continues to dispense water without making cubes...possible solutions please

Check to see if there is water/ice in the ice mold of the ice maker. If the mold is dry, you probably need to replace the water valve.

Our towels and clothes have a mildew/musty smell. when I spin the stainless drum inside, i can hear water sloshing around.

Towel mildew odor is transferred from the washer to towels and clothes. The washer must be cleaned first. After cleaning the washer and towels washing habits must change to stop mold smell from returning.

Washing machine mold / mildew is caused by:
#1 cause is overuse of detergents. Detergent companies are notorious for instructing to use too much detergent. Especially with soft water or when using liquid detergent no more than 1 tbsp of any detergent should be used.
#2 most common cause is using fabric softener because it's dispensed in the rinse cycle and will coat the inside of the outer tub with residue that is a food source for mold to grow.
#3 using only cold water for washing is fine but makes preventative maintenance very important. A weekly hot soak will dissolve odor-causing residue from inside your washer.
#4 not using the washer. If the clothes washer isn't used very often maintenance is especially important. If leaving for a vacation it's a good idea to clean your washer. Do a search to "remove washer odor" to read just how big the problem is. There are all natural washer cleaners that will also remove mildew odor from towels and clothing after the washer has been cleaned.

How to clean where ice & water come out on a Hotpoint side by side. It appears to have mildew I think.

You can disconnect the water line at the bottom of the freezer door and using somthing like a turkey baster or one of those baby nose bulbs, pump a water and baking soda and bleach solution through it. Let it sit to kill the mold and rinse throughly.
