Hi, If it is a 2 stroke engine you will not need to check oil level. Because the oil is in the mix already. If it is a 4 stroke there will be a black or gray screw type plug on the crankcase. It will also have a dip stick on it. Good luck.
I've had an '06 and now '08 RMZ450 so I'm assuming the '05 is the same. Run the bike until it's warm and then shut it off. Wait a couple of minutes and then halfway up the clutch cover is a level bolt. Remove the bolt and if the oil level is correct there should be a slight dribble of oil coming out of the bolt hole.

The isn't an oil level sight glass as such on the '08 RMZ450. About halfway up the clutch cover is a allen key head bolt. Run the bike until it's warm and then turn it off. Wait a couple of minutes and then take out the screw. If the oil level is correct there should be a slight dribble of oil coming out of the bolt hole.
hi mate,, if u dont have a dip stick on the filler cap,,or a spy window on the engine casing,, it should still give u a number on the casing by the filler cap for the oil,,ie,it will either say 3000ml,,or 2500ml which means 3litres or 2 and a half litres,, always add just under a half a litre of oil if u have changed the oil filter,
