K so I have seen similar posts about this but nothing completely matches mine. I really hope u guys can help me. So I bought a Hannspree HF289H from best buy a few years back, and other than needing glasses i think its been great! Until 2 weeks ago, my PC was put into hybernation mode and when i tried to turn it on nothing. None of the buttons work, the computer had woken up but that monitor didnt. I tried everything but still nothing. A few hours later i decide to take a different screen and plug it in and it worked like a charm. Now i put the hanns back in and still nothing. I said forget it and left both screens on but used the samsung not the hanns since it wasnt working. OUT OF NOWHERE and a few minutes later the thing TURNS ON! I was happy go lucky and I now had 2 monitors. Fast forward to today, I get home from a frients house and the pc is in hybernation. This time though 6 hours later the hanns still hast not turned on. When I plug it in i get a SINGLE orange light for less than a second and thats all that happens. Or when I restart the PC I get that single orange light too.Every button is not responsive and its like the monitor is dead, but i dont its not because windows recognizes it and i can drag items to it. I also noticed that my resolution has always been 1920 by 1200. Now all I can chose is 1920 by 1080. Iam also sure why it is doing that either. I've tried everything and im out of ideas. Now that I do know is that the monitor works because the PC recognizes it. under DS mode i can drag my mouse and icons to the blank screen, so I know it works and its detected. The weird thing though is that it lost ts name HANNS on the device thing and now its just a display device. I looked for drivers everywhere but i cant find them for this monitor for some reason. I tested another PC on it no go, I tested a PS3 on it no go, I tested DVI, VGA, HDMI, no go still. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
Hi,
There is two chance for theis problem. 1) there is missing voltage to the back light inverter boadr or 2) the back light inverer is faulty. Check the power supply volatge to the back light inverter board. Normally its 24v for all lcd back light inverters. If the power supply is ok then you have to replace the back light inverter board.
You can check is there is any picture on the lcd screen by the help of a tourch . light the tourch near to the lcd screen and wach the screen from different angel while the PC is in ON position.. in some angle you can see the shadow of picture if every thing else working fine except back light.
If so there is powersupply missing or back light iverter is faulty. You have to replace the back light inverter board with a new on because there is no repair possible with the board. Also the spares will very difficut to get.

Ur tv have a dead 1 or 2 long board that call the LCD inverter boards. These 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards job are to help the LCD screen panel to have a backlight to produced a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.

the blinking light signifies to a repair technician with capacitors or circuits are having an issue they can diagnose the problem via the amount of blinks in between pauses however it will require a technician and some specific tools and schematics to fix and it may be cheaper if its no longer under warranty to purchase a new one
Hope this helped

Yes but why did it fix itself last time when the same thing happened? I really dont think the thing is busted, from what i read the one orange light means its stuck in standby mode, I guess I just have to figure out how to get it out of that
