Question about Thermador SC272T Electric Double Oven

F24 Error code and incessant beeping

After we are done cooking and oven is off it starts beeping and error code F24 appears.  The beeping will start and stop for up to one hour after we turn oven off.  Everything works fine, just can't stand the beeping.

pushing the door closed stops the beeping temporarily, so I suspect it's a matter of the door not closing completely.

3 year old oven. Just started with exact same problem. Does seem to be some sensor connected with the door.

4 years old - finished baking and grilling yesterday turned oven off and it then started beeping with error code F-24.  We turned off the circuit for 30 minutes problem still there.  We have noticed the top oven door looks like its sagged since new.  I do not place things on the door.

We have a Thermador single oven and also experience the erratic beeping, like our oven has a mind of its own.

Will not stop beeping and showing code f 24.

Being a software developer I guessed that the keyboard (the touch pad) was bad, because in my case one of the keys (the Top Oven OFF key) did not beep or work. So I went on the Thermador website and found the touchpad on the schematic. I ordered one yesterday from a firm called Mar-Cone in St. Louis, and it arrived today. It is a very easy replacement, and takes about 10 minutes. Happily it was a good guess, and it works fine. For the 27" SEC272BS/01 (stainless) the part # is 474083, and cost $189.20. They will express ship for $25.

Phew, we have 20 people coming for dinner on Thursday.

I'll be happy to let anyone know how to change the panel.

Be sure to order the correct part number as these are model specific. Most of the touch panels are No Longer Available (NLA).

I'm getting a f24 code on my lower wall oven...what to do?

Hi. Error code F24 indicates that the controller has failed to communicate with the lower convection fan and oven lights control board. If the error code persists, I would recommend connecting with an expert repair tech to assist further and the display board may need replacing.

If you are having oven problems with your GE XL44 oven then you need to do a bit of oven troubleshooting. The first part of that problem is to know what the oven fault codes are trying to tell you.

The codes F0, F1, and F7 could either be a problem with the control or the keypad.
-to see what the problem is cause by, push clear/off on the keypad. Then disconnect the ribbon connector from the control. Wait at least 35 seconds to see if the code comes back. If the code comes back then the control is the problem. If the code does not come back, then replace the key panel.

F2 – This means there has been a problem with the temperature of your oven. It could be a cooling fan or air flow problem. Also could be that the oven got too hot in either a baking mode or a cleaning mode.
-check to make sure the contactor contacts are not welded together. If this happens the oven will always be putting out heat, even if turn off. The thermal switch may also have burnt out. If this switch is open then the fan may be bad, causing the thermal switch to activate. The thermistor that senses oven temperature may also bed bad or have a poor connection somewhere.

F3 and F4 - These are oven temperature sensor codes.
- check the sensor by removing power to the range and then removing the sensor. Check that the sensor reads approximately 1100 Ohms at 72 degrees F. Then check the oven sensor lead to make sure that it is not shorted out. Then check the terminals to make sure that you are getting good contact. If everything checks out okay, then replace the control.

F5 – This is a relay safety circuit failure code
-check the lock circuit for problems. Then check the thermistor for high resistance. Press clear/off on the key pad and reprogram the control. If the code is still there then replace the control.
The F5 code can also result from a short loss of power. If you had a power flicker then reset the control.

FC – This shows a problem with the door lock circuit. Check all the wires and the switches. Check the operation of all the switches.

FD – This is a problem with the meat probe. Check the probe wiring and the receptacle where the probe plugs in at. Resistance on the probe should be 30 to 50K ohms at 72 degrees F.

FF – This is a problem with the door motor safety circuit. To fix this the control will need to be replaced.

F24 code

In some cases I have had to replace both the touch pad and power relay board. Expensive! HOWEVER, I have, on occasion, found the wide ribbon from the touch pad to the relay board to be at fault. I have not found replacements for these as of yet. I have been able to "open" the ribbon to clean the contacts within and reassemble it to find everything working. Needless to say, my clients have been extremely happy with my ability to do so, saving them thousands if having to replace the entire unit.
I found the bad connection when the lighting was dim and I saw a "flash" at the point ribbon it inserted in the end piece. Hope this helps.

F2 and F3 code appearing along with annoying beeping

i think f3 error code has something to do with the temp probe maybe it is the problem. the temp probe is located if you open the door directly in the back wall. it looks like a prong. should read 1100ohms the f2 error code though usually has something to do with the keypad i would check all the connections maybe they are loose.

Viking Electric oven beeping saying EOCGT v36 premiere poweringup

Sounds like leaving the door open has possibly cooked the controller. I would try a power cycle - power off at fuse for 5 minutes, then reapply power. If this doesn't clear it, you may need a new controller for it.
