I love this solution. take used coffee grounds put them on a paper towel inside the box.close the door. will take 24 hrs. and it will smell like coffee. not so bad. I was told about this by a old fishing guide. And this box was full of dead rotten fish. And it works.I know this will work for you
Hi, pull out the fridge and remove the back panel, and clean that area. Make sure no food is stuck under the fridge also. A rotten piece of fruit or other food, once under there, will smell until it totally decomposes.
You can also mix 1/3 cup of bleach and 2/3 cup of water , and pour down drain tube (rear bottom in freezer section. Too much bleach and the smell of bleach would be circulated by the fan to the room, so be sure to add water.
Finally, another popular methods of removing fridge odor include washing the entire fridge out with a vinegar and water solution, placing fresh coffee grinds or boxes of baking soda on each shelf and even using trays of cat litter.
dead fish smell ( under the frig there is a cond pan that collects water from the defrost . whirlpool has some tabs that you can put in pan/ it helps .. I would put a cup of bleach in pan every 3 months . and if you can find the drain inside the freezer add it thorugh the drain . algae builds up in drain and plugs it . mm

if the ice has been in the freezer ice bin for a couple of weeks or if you added any food to the freezer that is not totaly frozen before adding then the ice will absorbe the odor of the food added, also the defrost of the evaperator will also add to bad ice taste
a new filter for the ice maker is maybe needed, depending on how long it has been since it was changed
if it has been changed, youcan try this whirlpool tip
put a small pie pan in the freezer and one in the fresh food section
add 1/2 inch of fresh coffee not coffee grounds to each pan
leave in for 24 hrs
dump out coffee in the sink drain
repeat the process
dump coffee in 24 hrs
yes on the coffee grounds and keep it long as it works as freon has a life of about 120 years if the sealed system don't leak also just start the freezer and the freezing air will kill the bacteria that causes oder in a little while also frigidaire makes a product made from coconut charcoal called fridge aid you can get at any home appliance or improvement stores
Try putting an open can or two of coffee inside. My mother's freezer had gotten unpluged and it was full of fish. She put cans of coffee inside and shut the door a couple of days later she took them out and the freezer did not stink anymore.
Hope it works for you.
