Question about Ricoh Aficio CL3500N Laser Printer

Cl3500n ricoh Joe, I noticed you seem to know a lot about this printer. I just posted to a post that I am having the same problem as Gayle, with the rainbow printing. Do you know anything else that is causing this. I have a new Black PCU, new Color PCU, a replacement color PCU, and still blotchy colors. If I reseat the PCU's I can get about 6 good copies out and then the blotchness returns. The printer only has 22,000 copies on it.

    I really did not feel that this problem was a driver issue. The first copy comes out somewhat nice most of the time followed by fading of the color pictures.

    But I thought I would give it a try at least. I deleted the printer and reinstalled the RPCS driver. Still no change. I then went onto the RICOH website and looked through their troubleshooting, trying different print settings, quality, etc. I checked the paper, and its settings, still nothing.

    The color fading looks like a small burn of missed color on the picture and then slowly grows with each print. I even tried sending only 1 copy at a time, still blotchy coloring.

    The printer I have is the RICOH CL3500N printer.

    thanks, joe, the fuser roller is encased in plastic with only a small **** to see in, very hard to determine if there is a bad spot or not. The cost of replacing the fuser unit is $2 more then buying a completely new printer. Thanks for looking at my problem.

I would re-install the RPCS driver.

Also, check the the paper thickness are correct.
RPCS
On the [Setup] tab, select [Bypass Tray] in the [Paper source tray:] list, and then select [Thick] in the [Paper type:] list
PCL 5e/6
On the [Paper] tab, select [Bypass Tray] in the [Input Tray:] list, and then select [Thick] in the [Type:] list.

    If you have replaced the PCU's and cleaned the unit. I would suspect that the fuser may have a bad spot on the roller. You may have to pull it out to inspect and /or replace it.

Hp laserjet m1522f error 5 turn off and on


Hi, Error 5 is a Scanner error. When turning the printer on, have the lid up so you can watch the scanner movement. Does it move smoothly? It should go through a warm up and you should be able to watch the scanner movement. If there is a problem with the scanner, there isn't a lot you could do except. The service manual says the scanner assembly should be replaced. If it was my printer, I would try to take a closer look at the scanner assembly and check to see if the scanner unit is bound up somewhere, or maybe a drop of 3 in 1 oil on the scanner rails. Let us know what happens.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
