The whole bottom of the material is clumps of thread
Remove bobbin.
Take your small sewing machine lint brush and sweep around the bobbin case to remove debris (lint, loose threads).
Make sure bobbin looks smooth with no visible bent areas or scratches.Sweep out feed dogs area. Gently get the brush bristles down in there but be very gentle, of course.
Make sure when you rethread your machine (which I HIGHLY recommend) that your needle is all the way up as high as it will go in the needle shaft. Flat side of the needle goes to the back and the rounder side should face you. Tighten the screw on the needle clamp securely.
How about the weight of the fabric? Maybe it's too heavy for the size needle you are using. Or vice versa. And thread should be of good quality and suitable for the weight/type of fabric you are using (i.e. can't use cotton thread to sew Spandex, etc.)
Make sure your bobbin is going properly into the bobbin case. The thread goes under the piece where the tension screw is (right to left) and up through the delivery eye. You can tighten or loosen the bobbin case screw, but just a TAD and test results, being careful not to over-turn this! It doesn't take a huge turn to change results it makes.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Needle won't pick up bobbin thread - HELP!!!
I recently fixed my wife maching with the same problem. I found that the screw had come loose that holds the linkage together that rotates the bobbin holder. I was fortunate enough to notice the screw while looking at the machine. To replace it requires taking both the front and back covers off of the frame since the bobbin holder linkage is in the rear behind the needle area. Be careful to insure that the plastic toothed "rail" that runs the bobbin holder is positioned properly or it may break off a tooth. Once I replaced the screw and put the machine back together, it picked up the thread with no problem. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: I cannot get the needle to catch the bobbin thread
sounds like your keeping the upper thread too tight when you drop your needle down to catch the bobbin or the bobbin thread that you left hang out is too short, let me know if it works amy

You may have the bobbin case in wrong. I have this machine, and I know that it is really easy to put the bobbin case in wrong. Try taking it out and making sure that the little stop is in the front and it is seated down in there and able to wiggle back and forth. My experience with this machine, until the other day when my cat knocked mine off the table and knocked something out of alignment, is that it just works. Any time mine hasn't worked, it has either been dirty, needing oil, threaded wrong or the bobbin case wasn't seated right. In other words, it has always been my fault.
SOURCE: Bobbin thread comes out in a mass of threads
ENSURE you have threaded the bobbin properly and at the right tension. Also, ensure that you have routed the bobbin thread properly in the bobbin case.
SOURCE: Bunching and Looping (Bobbin Side)
Thread the machine with different color thread for the needle and the bobbin, then see which color is bunching up.Ill bet it is the top thread.
