Doesn't fill

Possible that the water level sensor is faulty as it tends to indicate before the level has reached thereby starting the rinse cycle.
Usually this can be due to faulty level settings or fault in the pressure switch as it can be acting too fast. It will be best to clean the inlet valve and check the flow , test the water level sensor and see if this works by blowing into the diaphragm.

When i empty the kitchen sink it runs into my wahing machine

You need to raise the outlet hose from your washer higher up to prervent the water running back from the sink.
The higher the better.

check that there is good water flow to the washer, if yes , then it is the selonoid valve on the washer, located inside where the water hoses come in

My White Westinghouse 833ES never stops filling, it seems like as water goes in, it is draining right out. Any ideas of what to check would be appreciated. Thank you.

you have to have the drain higher than the water level of the wahing machine, plus ther is no stopper for the water so if you have the drain hose connected directly to another hose and there is no air gap at the top it will just siphon out

What level of difficulty would replacing an inlet valve pose?

If the water runs at any time the power is off to the machine, you need to change the inlet valve.
It depends on the model on how hard it is to change.
The water level switch has no adjustment on it. it would need changed if it is acting up.
Get me a model # and I can get you instructions on changing valve.

Hi, Turn the faucets off at the wall and remove the inlet hoses. Look inside the inlet valve and see if the screens inside the valve are plugged.

Keeps filling with water when turned on

A lot of wahing machines use a bunch of micro-switches to turn the various solenoids on and off. If your washer has that type of switch, it could be sticking, subsequently sending an "on" signal to the fill solenoid.

Washing machine stuck in fill cycle

It certainly sounds like the water level switch acting up. Do a couple of other checks first. Make sure you are not siphoning on the initial fill. Check your drain hose and make sure there is an air gap to the drain pipe. If you don't have a gap sometimes it will fill and siphon right out. Next would be to examine the level switch hose that runs to the tub. You want to make sure that there is no pin hole leaks in it causing this problem. Once you are satisfied the drain and tubing is ok, get another piece of tubing the same size and blow into the level switch when the machine is acting up. If the water stops, you can be almost certain it is the switch. Part number...3366847. It's important to do these checks because I have seen timers on this model mimic the water level switch. back.
