Question about Mitsubishi WS-55859 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WS-55859 55in Rear Projection CONVERGENCE won't correct

My RED convergence is in right field and will not correct using the setup procedures.
I found the correction posted on a previous support problem of changing the IC chip and or power resistors.
I found the chip number (on another fixit site) of IC8C01 267P155010 HIC -STK393-110 for the convergence chip.
MY QUESTION IS: Where in the V19 chassis is this chip located? AND;
With all the stuff in the chasis, what is the best way to replace it??

Old Topic, Got a Mitsubishi WS-B55, the chassis version number is located on the back-right, on the very bottom of the name plate. I'm looking for a convergance IC for my blue controller, and stumbled upon this forum. I'll keep looking, and good luck.

The convergence is out, and the convergence ICs' would have to be canged on convergence board, and you are looking a a repair bill between 300-400, and if it was mine for the year that it is I would not lay any money into it, Just buy a new LCD, take care.

We can set the convergences great but after about 10 to 15 minutes ithe reds lines start moving a little again will not stay in position. It's a widescreen Mitsubishi rear projection tv ws-55857.

The problem - you're setting the convergence settings, but you're not saving them, you're
simply exiting the menu screen. Be sure to save your convergence setting for each
of the three colors. It sounds like you're setting RED last, and not saving its convergence setting,
whereas the GREEN & BLUE are holding their convergence settings, since you're saving them
correctly before proceeding on to RED....

It looks a great deal like watching a 3d movie without 3d glases. The convergence is not correct. I tried to correct with a convergence back to factory settings and a manual correction from the remote. Not...

Common convergence problems like this require the set to be repaired. Transistors are used to control convergence and they will go bad eventually and require replacement. Expect a repair cost in the 100 to 175 dollar range depending on who you can find to complete the repair.

yheshospot,

You have a bad convergence circuit. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4220499-change_projection_tv_convergence_ics which explains how to correct the problem and where to get the parts at the best price.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

First look for open solder connections on the convergence ICs. next bad reisistors around convergence ICs. If you find none of this then replace the convergence ics.

Did you replace the center board with the STK-392-570 chips or the Digital convergence board mounted on it?

98% of the time if you have a convergence problem it is on the center board---the small board on the left under the metal shield box stores and controls the convergence of this set.

WHICH DID YOU REPLACE?

I am here to help----I have fixed hundreds of Mitsubishi sets with convergence troubles.
