Better to use 1 video card with dual output, you can split the monitor - separate or different applications on each monitor or you can also extent the application window to the other monitor (useful for spread sheets, applications with timeline, etc.)

if by pushing on the power button the machine does not immediately shut down, and you have to hold it down for 5 or 10 seconds, this would indicate that the system is fully functional. the problem would be , your monitor or integrated graphics (NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i) are bad. the graphics can be resolved by adding a graphics card to your system for a reasonable price that varies from 25.00 to 85.00 dollars. the proper card would be a PCI Express video graphics card. here is a link that will provide you with many different options suitable to your need. i suggest you take into consideration if you are a gamer , that you aquire one equal too or greater than 512 self supported ram. 512 will by far exceed the factory video capabilities, enabling a much higher quality video resolution and clearer video /gaming viewing.

I want to use second screen with nvidia 7100 onboard card and nvidia g force 8400 can it be done

Nvidia will tell you not to mix video processors. They can not be connected in SLI mode. I would remove the 7100 and run dual screens on the 8400.

No color Red, Dell XPS 400, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE video card

Mike,

I would recommend for you to try different monitor, so that you can isolate the problem.

If same problem occur, try to plug in your video card into another PCI slot in your computer. Cleaning the gold fingers of the video card with a clean cotton cloth might help.

Use a blower to remove some dust on the PCI slot.

Or try inserting the video card in another computer. If you get the same problem on another computer, you need to replace the card.

Good luck!

Setting up dual monitors with NVIDIA 7300 GS Graphics Adapter

so...
your computer don't recognize your nvidia graphic card in PCI Express slot.
you are runing now with computer's integrated graphic card?
if so then you won't have dualview option. in this case it looks for me like you've installed in the wrong way your graphic card.

your NV GeForce 7300 GS has 2 video output?
if yes then you should have the option for 2 monitors on nVIDIA control panel (i have check my nVIDIA GeForce 7600gt and in my case this option is present but is enabled only if i connect the second monitor, so try do so)

you have installed the latest nVIDIA drivers from the official website? http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

check if your video card is corect installed start/run type in " devmgmt.msc ". it will open device manager and under the display adapter tab you should see what video card you use now.

Nvidia geforce 7300 GS tv-out

well...the 7300 GS is not quite a powerfull board.
frst it may be a problem if the card really support the tv out..
However,if it is just a driver/codec problem,I suggest you to reinstal the windows.the drivers and codecs which you repetedly used can harm your windows registers.
after all this,if the problem persists, you can try instaling and older version of Nvidia driver..many times this old drivers work better..
bye
