Does it stop on one particular picture? If so, I would say that you have a corrupt picture file on your SD card.

How to start slideshow after selecting the pictures

When you power on the picture frame, a slideshow will automatically display the photos on your memory. (If you have not inserted a memory card yet, the slideshow will display the photos pre-loaded into the internal memory.)

To restart the slideshow, press

ENTER again, or press the Slide Show button on the remote control.

Polaroid IDF-1030 Digital Picture Frame - Slideshow with Music

The manual for the Polaroid IDF-1030 is ridiculously simple and not very helpful. There's actually more information on the outside of the box.
One of the features that is not intuitively easy to figure out is how to get the frame to display a picture slideshow AND play music at the same time. The remote is the only way that you can set this up.
First, on your computer, create a folder for the images and a folder for the music. If you put music in the images folder, your slideshow will stop at the first music file it finds and just display the music player's equalizer interface. This is very boring.
Note on the pictures.. spend a little time and reduce the size of your pictures to 640 x 480 pixels. Dealing with large files on the photo frame is painfully slow.
images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format although it will also display .gif files. Music should be MPEG (.mp3) format.
Copy these folders to the root of your memory card.
Put the memory card in the Polaroid frame card slot and turn it on.
Use the remote and press the STOp button if it automatically starts displaying the pictures.
Press the MUSIC button and select the REPEAT button until you see REPEAT ALL at the bottom of the screen.

Press the PLAY/PAUSE to start the music, then immediately press the SLIDESHOW button to start the slideshow with music.
I hope this helps some of you who had trouble with this.

I have a smartparts picture frame.SP113mw Just loaded new pictures and first pic comes up and freezes, tried re-connecting to computer nothing. Can't use any of the buttons its locked up and can't...

The first (most obvious?) solution is to discard/destroy/disable/discombobulate the SP113MW. For my Mother-in-Law, I just deleted some of her images from built-in flash.

The SP113MW has a 128 mB flash drive that is accessible by USB, per previous suggestions. HOWEVER, the probable reason that your frame freezes on startup is that you have more than 744 images in the "Smartparts Pictures" folder on the built-in flash memory.

The SP113MW has a maximum limit of 744 images for a slideshow rotation, regardless of how much space is on the drive (that includes Built-in flash, USB, SD, or any of the drives). The default drive on startup is the built-in flash, so you may just have to delete some images to get under the 744 limit. FORGET the manufacturer's claim of "2000 images" (because it is technically correct); you can store 2000, but you'll never play a slideshow of 2000 (nor any slideshow if you have that many images). Reduce to 744 (all jpg's) and all will be well.

The other irritating thing about the SP113MW is that it does not allow the slideshow to include all drives: just one drive at a time, and that drive cannot have more than 744 images on it (or the slideshow freezes). That is why your comment about "trash" may not be a bad idea. However, mine Mother-in-Law's still works, so I accepted the limit, and it still sits on her shelf.

I can't get my DP702 digital frame to save my pictures from my camera. Can you tell me how to do it ... ty

The DP702 frame only takes 14 pictures saved to the slideshow file. Install a memory card/device, then plug in the usb cable, electronic store carry it for 7 or 8 dollars. It's too bad, it doesn't come with the frame. Choose the photo you want saved, and press the save button on the remote to save the photo to the slideshow, if you press it again while you're on the same frame, I think it will delete that photo. I hope that helps.

Picture frame freezes when playing from sd card or flash drive

I've never used a card in mine, but I've seen others mention that if they go beyond about 50 % of capacity on the card, the frame will freeze up.

so.... try reducing the size / number of pictures ?

Also, did you run them through the OptixPix optimizer ? It reduces size by over 90 %, probably makes it easier for the tiny processor in the frame to handle it.

To fix the freezing problem, all you have to do is change the file names to basic numbers. If you have long file names, it causes the pictures to freeze up. Change the names, and the problem stops!

I just purchased a frame and wondered the same thing. My computer has a slot for an SD card once inserted the computer shows the SD file. Then go into where you store the pictures highlight the picture one at a time in the picture file my program says copy to file click on it and shows the SD file as F file click copyit then downloads to the card. Done put SD card in frame worked perfectly.
