I have the same problem. Last night, my MS laser 6000 v.2 keyboard was perfectly fine and today, it just got possessed. What is up with the x's. I don't even have to push down on that key and it just types away and nothing but xxxxxxxxx nonstop.

I know I didn't spill anything on it. I know it's not a software issue because I have another identical keyboard that I use, and it works perfectly fine.

    Help if you can, please.

This seems to be a "systemic" fault with this product.

Throw it away, buy a replacement and forget Microsoft!

Problem is either underneath or actually in the circuitry or controller. Have you spilled anything on it prior to this problem? Have you tried another keyboard to rule out software?

The problem is hitting the keys to hard or key slapping as i call it. You have hit the X key so hard it has put a dent in the membrine and now the two layers are tuching.

Hi, Check that your desk or table is level. Also download and run an adware scanner. ( adaware, Ccleaner and Malwarebites are good scanners) Run your anti-virus too. This should fix it. Good luck.

I have lost my Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 Disc

Visit the official software download site at Microsoft:You'll want to select your operating system, 32- or 64-bit then your language. This should be the same software that came on your install disc.

Note: to find out if you have 32 or 64 bit windows in Vista and 7 click on Start then right-click Computer and select properties. A window will come up with that information. If you have XP you would have to go out your way to get 64-bit so if you aren't sure then you have 32-bit.

My keyboard seems to type letters, especially x

Hmm, sounds like a electrical fault but it could be a virus so scan your computer just in case.

How do I increase the range on my wireless microsoft 6000 keyboard and microsoft wireless laser mouse 6000 v2.0.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 that also has a very short range. The only solution I've found so far is to plug the receiver into a USB extention cord and run the cord toward the mouse.

Microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 6000 not working

I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still no workie. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the mouse's opening for the battery appeared to be bent down (away from the contact on the battery tray). So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!

Microsoft wireless laser keyboard 6000 v2.0 keyboard not working

You have to press the button on the receiver that is directly connected to the computer. While doing this, press the connect button both the mouse and the keyboard. I did this and now my keyboard is working, despite the battery indicator turning itself off a few seconds after I install it.

Hope this solves your problem.

Microsoft Wireless Laser keyboard 6000 v2.0

Try going to Control Panel, then click on keyboard and Keyboard Properties will come up. Then click on Key Settings and then click on Restore Defaults. Hopefully that will do it. Had a similar problem with an MS 4000 KB.
