I have replaced the tank again and again it continually leaks. It is the unit.
Eventually this happens; We found that no soap was dispensing, so we cleaned the rubber washers out under the tank and put back together now it dispenses fine BUT.........it empties out immediately and I can no longer use the attachment hose cause when I spray it comes out under the unit instead.
    I tell ya.....What a mess!

Poorly designed or manufactured tank. Appears insufficient plastic thickness around valve feed...sucks...no pun intended...

I think I have the same problem w/ my hoover steam vac-the water just runs out the back of the unit. I looked @ the seals & they look ok. Could you see your bucket leak?

I have a bissell pro heat2x turbo. my problem is that the sprayer underneath is not working, also it sounds as if there is air coming from somewhere.

Sounds like there is a leak or crack somewhere in your tank.
Check the tank and tubes for damage or clogs. You may have to replace your tank.

How do I cycle the valves on the bottom with the eraser end of a pencil on my hoover dual vac shampooer

The center part of the valve (stem) pushes up (spring loaded) to release liquid. If it leaks it can (and should) be replaced. Also, check the black valve seal (conical shaped ring around the outside) for cracks or splits as this can contribute to leaks. The entire valve assembly (similar to photo) should be replaced to solve both issues.

This link has photos for a step-by-step install of the shampooer.

Note: I found the most difficult part was ensuring that the belt was connected correctly, so spend a couple extra minutes in the beginning and you won't need to sit in soggy carpet working with it.

Leaking Carper Shampooer

I have an Eureka Atlantis Deep Steam Extractor and it does the same thing. It's not new but it hasn't been used much.

The manual says to "push the tank in until it snaps into place". Everything looks fine across the board so I believe this particular model is just a bad design overall.

My recomendation: Get a new carpet cleaner from Target or Wal-Mart.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!

You are missing the wee round suds screen that fits over the small hole on the tank where the hose fits on. Without this screen it will not make foam.

Carpet shampooer

hi, I used to sell these, and can tell you that they are not designed to suck up the water. They are made to put a limited amount down and then the brushroll scrubs it. Then it drys and ideally you would vacuum up the dried residue that is left. I own one myself, and admittedly the shampooer is not as good as the ones that steam clean and suck it up, but it does ok. The longer you sit in one area, the more water is going to go down, so keep it moving. And remember that it is going mostly at the middle of the unit, so it's good to overlap a bit. If you have troubled stains, I can suggest spraying some type of cleaner on it and going over it with the brushroll--like windex. My buddy also used to sell them, and that worked for him.
