I installed a Honeywell RTH230B model thermostat. The heat works fine, but the AC is blowing warm air. Wires from old system are as follows: Y=yellow; G=green; R=red; O=brown; C=blue; E=white (it looked...

the colors of old system are for heat pump.if you have a heat pump you need heat pump thurmostat and colrs will make more sense.if not, then you need to go into furnace to see what colors go where.yellow is cool, goes to compressor contactor, usually another wire going from furnace to outside unit.green is fan relay rh is heat call rc is cool call

I have a lux product thermostat model #t101141/psm30 and the connections are not working with the new rth230b thermostat. what i am doing wrong.

you are likely missing a Jumper wire between RH and RC ....if you have 4 thermostat wires , usually Red,White,Yellow and Green...then you will req the jumper wire...look at the old thermostat and see if it had 1...install this jumper on the new one....obviously also make sure you have the wires connected to the appropriate terminals....you may also have blown a small fuse in the furnace while installing it if you did not turn the power off first or hooked the wires up incorrectly

I have Honeywell thermostat (RTH230B). The heat set works well, but cool set does not work. My air condition works well with my old thermostat. What's the problem. Thanks

Do you have an Rh and Rc terminal on t'stat and do you have 4 wires coming into it?
If you do then you need to put a jumper wire from Rh toRc.

Sounds like you have it wired wrong..   Pop the top off and give me to color of the wires and tell me which letter each color wire is on.. that will tell us right away if you have it wired wrong

Normally, you should have 5 color wires: W-White, Y-Yellow, G-Green, R-Red and C-Blue.

The Blue wire is a common from the transformer on older systems, which is probably hooked to RC terminal.

Try this: Remove the blue wire and jump the RC to RH with the red wire and you will be fine. Blue wire should not be needed with the new thermostat.

This should also be stated in the instruction manual.
Hope this helps.
