Missing Gateway keys

I have a Gateway T series computer, I am missing a few keys, first is there anyplace I can purchase these keys? Also, if so how can I replace them myself? Note: The keys on my computer are silver, not white or black, and one of the keys, is at the top (function key) in between the scroll key and the Ins key. Help !!!

I have a T-series computer, and I recently busted out one of the arrow keys while cleaning it. If I can't get a link to a place to buy a new one, I'll just duct tape it back on, but I'd appreciate one that'll actually stick.

Hi, I have not solved this problem yet. I am stilling awaiting an answer from FixYa personnel, or other individual out there. I thought that the other paid service is optional?

have you tried replacing the batteries in your Wireless keyboard? it could be that simple as the wireless may be dieing if there is not enough power to send the information of what your typing.. Try this before you change your configurations in Windows.

Hope this helps,

Missing key

Hi Allie18,
If the cat has not eaten the small plastic clips that fixes the key to the keyboard, you are in luck.
Just place the key over the keyboard, align it so it is square with the other keys, push it down firmly until it clicks into place.
If this does not work then you have some missing parts or bent piece of plastic.
If you are game, you can remove an adjoining key by lifting it up, then you can check this key and see if it matches the other key for missing or bent parts.
Your Dell supplier may have replacement keys, if not you will need to replace the whole keyboard.

Keyboard

If you purchased a generic keyboard ( One without a CD supplied) then you just remove the old one from the back of the computer and plug the new one in then turn on the computer. if you bought the one with the CD just do the above procedure but when you turn on the computer put in teh CD and run it. If you need further assistance just message me back.
